The orangey/rusty two-piece is pretty and has a hint of late summer/fall that would look good in August. But I would worry about that material showing every drop of perspiration on those closely cut sleeves. Especially outdoors in summer but depends on your geography, I guess.

Put me down as a fan of a floral print. One of my friends wore a floral gown to her DD’s wedding and it was beautiful. Not big flower floral, a tight floral print that from a distance was very abstract.

Re: Men’s casual but nice shoes - my DH loves Ecco’s and wears a casual and a lace-up weekend one. Also has Ecco winter boots that are slip-on and look really nice with jeans.

I wish the women’s Eccos were a little more stylish but when I try them on I feel frumpy. On men, they work. In fact our son will “borrow” his dad’s Ecco’s.

I realize these shoes will not win any fashion awards, but are they too unfashionable? (I am thinking of ordering a pair in black; my daughter is not impressed.)

Deb922 - I am also a big fan of Garnet Hill and especially their dresses. I have ordered the Chloe tie-back dress in the marine color and am eagerly awaiting its arrival.

It’s interesting to me that my high school daughter likes to borrow a lot of my Garnet Hill sweaters and she really loves several of their skirts that I’ve ordered for her, especially this one:

Amesie, step away from the clogs! How about some ballet flats instead? There are all sorts of very comfortable ones out there, and they look great with jeans.

I wear clogs in the summer without socks and with cropped pants. Just can’t help myself. I love my clogs! But I would go with Dansko’s over the Lands End clogs.

Hey, Bunsen, I think the Queen Mother went with Ferragamo’s. The best part of her ensemble, imo:

I have to say, my particular opinion, and only mine, about MOB-land, is that the suits are a tad matronly and old-fashioned. I prefer the float, the floral, the slightly more modern look. I do not mean in any way to tell anyone else how to dress. Just to add a data point in the What Do We Wear To Events discussion:). And my guess is that my point of view is determined in large part by living in Northern California. That said, I love the burnt orange color of the Watters dress, and am a fan of Watters overall.

I think I am doing well in the dressing young arena. Several times in the last few weeks my D who is 16 has expressed interest in my newer clothes.
Opinions on good long lasting leggings for teen and 20 something age bracket. My D has found some cute dresses and longer tanks that are pretty thin. They need to have something on underneath them. D wants them to be comfortable and not high waisted also not so tight that they make her legs look like sausages.

The thing is that floaty floral is just that . . . floaty … . .and can actually be a good thing when your top and bottom are way different in proportion. I think the suit and separates can kind of cut you up and box your various parts and not be too helpful. I’m narrow shouldered compared to my hips. I go with floaty any day over tailored separates.

Sewhappy, it does look like the Queen was wearing my shoes! No wonder why
-the pumps are comfy and royal- looking at the same time. I just cannot believe that she dragged that awful purse with her; oherwise, she looked like a million bucks. :)

The word on he street is that the wedge shoes worn by Kate in the after the ceremony photos sold out like hotcakes. For some unexplained reason the fashionista world is not going bananas about the Queen’s shoes. Could it have something to do with “dressing young”? Good, I need the Ferragamos on sale because I want another pair!
