No problem, Gourmetmom, just schedule another trip to the west coast to wear them! :)

I have a dear friend (much younger than me) who has a closet full of Louboutin’s. Her little girl just turned three and mom posted an adorable picture of her in plastic dress up shoes. I decided we should start a company that would make Lil’ Loubies! Instead of red, we could line the heel with pink. Any investors??

PS - and I know, I know, we would quickly be shut down for artistic infringement - but hey, maybe they would buy us out!

I SO live in the wrong part of the country for my, ahem, aesthetic sensibility (insert self-deprecating smiley here).

But, because of my roots, I probably do not have the confidence underpinnings required to pull off the looks I so admire,

wnp, Louboutin has bigger problems than to go after someone who makes shoes with pink soles for little girls.
He might even lose the entire red soles trademark completely:

Oops.

Soooo… If Anyi Lu, a Chemical engineer, could start her own shoe brand, you, wnp, can certainly do it!!!

Here’s the dress I mentioned in an earlier post. Trying to jazz it up a bit with some glitzy shoes… Something unsuspected…I have the black strappy sandals, but I may go with the glitzy look…

I’m thinking understated/limited accessories…do you agree?

That’s an attractive dress. I tend towards understated elegance and think that accessories in silver, white gold or platinum would be nice, including perhaps diamond hoops?

I bought the artsy dress and the Woford tights that BB suggested. Liked the dress when it arrived, but decided that it wouldn’t work for the fundraiser. It’s a political fundraiser that starts at 6 pm–most people will be coming right after work. That makes me think that most folks will be in work clothes. I’m going to wear a black suit and will save the dress for my H’s birthday dinner.

Now that I see it’s got a diamante brooch, I’d recommend you go with a pewter satin sandal. Don’t match the diamante, but play against it with pewter - even pewter bootie/sandals if you want to amp up the surprise. I think multi-color would be too much, again, assuming you keep the brooch. And yes, simple earrings.

I absolutely love that black gown. I wish that I had somewhere to go because I would run out and buy it. I often look at the pictures posted here (I really enjoy seeing what everyone likes) but this is the first time I really flipped. Enjoy that classy dress.

Love the Jersey Brooch Dress. I might order in the navy. Am starting to prefer navy to black, it seems a little less harsh of a color as I’m getting older.

I have zippo use for a long formal dress, but I sure wish I did!

Anyone watch that Gucci show video and think of Gretchen’s Granny panties when you saw the see through skirts?

Those cherry leather equestrian Gucci boots are gorgeous. I am glad I don’t live somewhere that people dress that fashionably, I can’t afford it!

Headed to MOA to Christmas shop and to pick up the navy blazer for D2. She decided on the J Crew shrunken schoolboy one. Not exactly what she wanted but will make due. I am looking for a dressy black cardigan/jacket to go over my tan CK sheath dress so I can wear it through fall. Wish me luck!

Didn’t find my black top but found the cutest animal print Coach flats!! Love them!

Success! ^^^

Animal prints and Coach. Ahhh…
Did your D find her navy blazer?

I scored a beautiful Wolford dress on RueLaLa! It is gorgeous, and the best part I paid only 20% of the retail price! I could not find a photo anywhere because it is last year’s style, but it looks sort of like this:

[A stylish lady in a dress similar to mine](http://omg.yahoo.com/photos/2-hot-2-handle/5244)

(Of course, I look nowhere as hot as the lady in the dress^^ ;))

I’m still looking for a longer coat that can be worn with my dresses and skirts. Grrr… All coat makers have teamed up and decided that this season’s coats have to hit 2 inches above the knee on a 5’6’’ person. They look ridiculous with skirts that are 1-2 inches *below *the knee!

I love this coat. I think it is from last year, but I love it.

I have also thought about getting a cape. I love some of the shawls by Burberry, but I know from experience they can be a nuisance to carry off with a purse. Down the runway with an outfit is fine, but add a purse, and things get dicey. I had a gorgeous camel cape many years ago, but in a moment of purging I gave it away.

wnp, many thanks!! That is a great coat and a great price. Made in the USA! Fleurette uses Loro Piana wool in some of its coats, although the description of this coat does not say so. I wish they had it in camel color, but black will do, too. Goretex might seem like the fabric of choice for our wet Seattle winters, but wool is fantastic at wind blocking and works great, as I discovered in the past. Unfortunately, the fabulous coat with a huge fox fur collar that I scored at Nordies for pennies on the dollar during the bleak times of the 2008 downturn is now too big for me, and I’m not sure if it can be altered.

I have been toying with this idea also. Capes are suppose to be very hot this year. Unfortunately, every time I try one on I end up feeling like I’m pumpkin shaped. I tried on an adorable one yesterday but just couldn’t bring myself to buy it.

Not a cape really but I have absolutely loved this for flying on airplanes. I ordered it in the bordeaux. My DH keeps stealing it from my dresser and wrapping up in it when she does her physics homework. May have to order her one . . .
