@HouseChatte Nordstrom Rack has Cole Haan pumps with a block heel. I ordered some in navy but haven’t worn them yet. There were some Stuart Weitzman and Naturalizer versions as well.
@yauponredux I didn’t realize N-Rack would let me search by heel type – woohoo!
I am a big fan of Paul Green shoes. Something like this:

The back tags on these make them a little more casual. I purchased navy suede last year. They run TTS, are comfortable, and I think it’s a good price for Made in Italy shoes.

I love block heels!
I like the block heels as well. I love the look of the Paul Green pumps in blue (also love my several-years old Paul Green low heeled booties) as well as the Everlane pumps, but pumps just seem to fall off my feet.
@orangepurple Have you tried Everlane’s block heel? They have some elastic at the heel that may keep them on your feet.
I haven’t tried them, but maybe that elastic would work. I’d like to have a pair of nice-looking shoes for dressing up just a bit.
Well, yesterday I went to a wedding and probably broke several fashion rules. Dressed for comfort and warmth—wore black silk slacks over thermal bottoms and wool tank under white cotton long sleeved tuxedo-style shirt with a red suit jacket. I was very comfortable and didn’t have to worry about mosquitoes in the open air natural setting.
I had contemplated wearing other outfits but was concerned about wind and rain and this outfit seemed good for whatever the weather. I have no regrets.
I always think of Coldwater Creek as stuff my Mom wore. Can I dress young in this shirt? http://www.coldwatercreek.com/shirts-and-blouses/long-sleeve-and-3%2F4-sleeve/anytime-striped–easy-care-tunic/12357.html
Absolutely! With skinny ankle jeans or leggings, ballet flats, and a scarf. Add sunglasses and a cute bag… and you are ready to sashay down the runway. Or run to the store to grab some bread.
Our assistant wears a lot of nice cardigans… I asked her about the source. Coldwater Creek online. It all depends what you pair it with!
Yes! @mathmom
What you pair with it will make the difference!
I agree to wear with skinny jeans or leggings, and I’d add a shorter vest. The look of shirts that are lower than jackets and vest are in style and youthful looking. Or if you are able, unbutton the lower buttons and tie in a knot and wear with a jacket.
I don’t like leggings because I don’t think they look good with socks and I hate wearing shoes without them, but I have lots of skinny jeans. Vests, not so much…
I was surprised by the latest catalog. Plenty of old lady stuff, but a bunch of stuff that I could imagine wearing.
Yup, I find a nice cabernet pairs with just about anything!
@mathmom You can wear it with legging tucked into ankle booties so socks can be worn.
I need to get new booties, I had ones that I loved but after I broke my ankle they were no longer comfortable. Shoes are the bane of my existence. Short fat feet and now messed up ones as well! @dietz199 - I am with you on that cabernet! (Actually that was the color of my beloved booties.)
So, when do you all start pulling out the spring colors and peep-toe booties to wear? I think next Wednesday for me. It’s going to be 64 degrees and I’m going out with my friends. I bought a pink denim jacket and a dark blue satin cami with pink flowers…wear with my dark washed skinny jeans and peep-toed booties. Might have to go back to winter by the weekend if it’s in the 40’s…but wanting to wear my spring stuff before it gets too hot. When do you start?
Peep toe boots - never. Silliest footwear design ever to be worn in my neck of the woods. Very impractical. But I hope that I parked my socks until at least October.
I like the description of your outfit. Sounds very spring-y.
