Actually, I really like how it fits the model. Of course, our bodies are different, so some adjustments are almost always needed.
@BunsenBurner I have an almost identical pair in white that I bought last year at Anthropologie. I love them and think the length is flattering - also think they look best with flats. I wore them with sandals I bought in Capri - the traditional leather-soled Italian sandals that are so comfortable and go with everything.
I bought these waterproof walking sneaks for my trip to Iceland.
They are really cool looking on.

Those are really cute @emilybee. They don’t come in half sizes, how did they run?
I wear a 7 in sneaks so I bought the 7 and they seem to fit very well. I wear a 6 1/2 in regular shoes but wear athletic socks (like thorlos with sneaks.) i would go up in size, not down.
I wore them today for the first time to go shopping for some clothes to wear in Iceland and they were very comfortable.
Athleta had some perfect tops on sale for Iceland in May. My early springtime wardrobe is lacking since we seem to go straight from winter where I am to summer.
Thanks @emilybee
Yea, same with dead of winter to summer. I love Athleta clothes
black skinny jeans and dark wash skinny jeans are my go to. Pair them with different tops, casual, dressier, throw on a blazer for work. Endless Possibilities. For weekends, lighter wash jeans for a more casual look.
@mom60, awhile back you mentioned the distressing In jeans where the hole has gotten bigger. Well, the distressing in one of my favorites has completely broke on one side. I love these jeans. I tried fixing them myself with stretchy thread and that’s unraveling now.
I just found this today and am going to order. Thought I’d pass the link.

For $19, it’s worth a shot. I figured there had to be something out there!
I think this distressing thing is really stupid. I have several pairs of jeans that I love and they do have the threading/distressing. I get my toes caught in it putting them on, and the hem has some loops of threads that I get caught in! I guess I’m on trend with them, but I would have been just fine if this hadn’t become a “thing”.
I am successfully avoiding this stupidity. Not exactly a stylish look IMO when your pants resemble the garb worn by the bums in the Jungle. ?
Nope–will never voluntarily wear clothes that are pre-distressed. I can easily get rips and tears without paying extra for someone to do it for me. I personally find the trend a bad & impractical one.
I have some on today and have been watching the knee area threads because of the above comments/issues lol. That patch product was a clever idea.
@psychmomma, I ordered one last night. I’ve had my favorite pair of distressed jeans for 4 years now and the distressing just came undone this last winter. I think it was a clever idea, too!
@MomofWildChild , the trend will end soon enough, but I’ve really enjoyed it. I like the edgy look. But do get annoyed when I forget to watch when I put on a pair of jeans and my toe gets caught.
I’ve only purchased two pairs in the last 5 years they’ve been a thing. My husband says one pair is his favorite pair of jeans I’ve ever worn, he loves how they look on me! And he never mentions my jeans. All my other jeans are regular ones. Didn’t want to invest too much, but all trends come and go. We will be back in bootcut in a couple years, I’m seeing them more and more.
Talking about jeans http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/04/19/mom-jeans-made-women-love-denim-again/
@conmama I haven’t yet figured out what I’m going to do with my pair that needs some repair work. I have done some online research into different ideas. I found an old pair of jeans from one of my kids that I can cut to make a patch. I just haven’t decided how I want to go about the patching. I don’t want an outside patch.
I might be in the minority here but I love my distressed jeans. Though I agree it’s annoying when putting them on. I have my skinny distressed jeans but one of my favorites is a looser fitting boyfriend in a light wash that I got a few years ago from Anthropologie. I wore them this weekend with a pair of Teva sandals and a James Perse t shirt out in Palm Springs.
I mainly wear skinny jeans but I did buy two pairs of jeans this week at the AG brand outlet in a new for me style. I got a white pair and a mid range blue in the ex boyfriend style. They are mid rise and a moderate loose leg. I like to get a size or two up in white.
I do like my distressed jeans but they seem a little edgy for work on the days we can wear jeans. Not all our senior management understands that this is a fashion trend right now. I’m high enough up the food chain that no one would say anything, but still…
Our company allows jeans on Fridays (the official dress code is business casual so khakis and polos kind of stuff), but the policy specifically prohibits ripped or cutoff jeans. Distressed is OK as long as the bottom is hemmed and there are no gaping holes.
I like some distressed jeans. I’m wearing a pair of Loft distressed jeans right now!
I really love the look of white jeans in the summer, but oy, you cannot take me anywhere. Not only do I feel like a dirt magnet when I’m wearing white jeans, but wearing them made me conscious of my habit of wiping my hands on my jeans.
I have one pair of distressed jeans and I love them. They only have one small tatter, right above the knee. They also have a frayed hem.
File under “who knew?” - I don’t shop WalMart (the WalMart near us is uber sketchy so we avoid it) but a home design blogger i follow posted this on her blog. Apparently WalMart has a premium brand page! https://www.walmart.com/cp/lord-and-taylor/4686374
