Are yours the ones with the back seam? I’m eyeing them.
I got the Rothy’s print low booties today and I think I’ll like them. The white sole makes them pretty casual, and they are a little tricky to get on (just pull on) but they felt really comfortable.
Yup, with the back seam! I have not washed them yet… will do this week and will let you know how they survive the handwash cycle. Got mine at Nordstrom. Have been eyeing their denim leggings, too!
I have the fake leather leggings and like them a lot. I just ordered the black skinny pants. I bet they will wash well.
I am living in a bigger body because I’ve been strength training.
I grabbed a pair of jeans the other day and could barely squeeze into them. These were a pair of “boyfriend” jeans and these jeans used to be loose on me! Now I know none of my skinny jeans or dress pants are going to fit.
I guess I get to go shopping!
I’m going to need a couple new bras as well because I’m getting lats, and my underwire has been digging in at the sides. Previously comfortable bras are suddenly annoying me.
It’s not like I’m all huge and ripped, lol, not at all, but it’s juuuust enough that I have to make a change.
I’m a little disappointed only because I had been the same size for some years and I had collected some favorite, perfect-fitting go-to items.
I used to love GAP 1969 jeans. Maybe I’ll start there, in a curvy fit. Might luck out at the thrift store.
I am not operating with the same budget as some of you! But I’m happy to buy second hand on eBay or at the thrift store!
@conmama, I bought my D William Rast jeans for the holidays last year. She really likes them and they fit well. Maybe I’ll try those or some from Spanx.
I’m mostly dressed in whatever fits from Costco. Fortunately, many of their items fit me very nicely and can be found in my size online if not at the store: jeans, jeggings, leggings, range of tops and jackets, wool T-shirts and socks!
Sure wish they carried more in D’s size—she’s a 0 or 00! Generally XS, S or 4 are their smallest for women.
I ordered the spanx denim leggings and the faux leather leggings from the Nordstrom anniversary sale. Sent the denim back, they were really baggy in the knees on me. I also bought the Good American good legs jeans and those were the ones I kept. They are very soft and comfortable, more so than the spanx imo. But I’m short and think that if the denim came in a petite I would have liked them better
I’m keeping the faux leather but haven’t had the chance to wear them yet. Last year I bought a pair of their seamless leggings and liked them a lot.
So, my high waisted Jennifer Lopez black skinny jeans came in. I’m long waisted. I bought both the mid-rise and the high waisted in the black. I also bought the high waisted in the ripped blue jeans.
The mid waisted black actually stopped right above my belly button, which I consider high. They fit and look great in a size 10 (need to order up in these jeans). They are keepers.
The high waisted black is almost a 1 1/4 inch higher. They were so tight and uncomfortable. They fit like an 8.
The high waisted jeans came over my belly button, but not as much as the black. They are very comfy and keepers.
It just goes to show that even with the same size and description, pants can fit differently.
Wearing my “CC” outfit today- the one y’all helped me spend $$ to get! The Rothy’s animal print booties and my Madewell wide leg cropped jeans. I thought it looked a little “extra” , as my daughter would say, but I’ve gotten a lot of good comments on the shoes and the jeans. I have a striped t-shirt (tucked in the front- is that French or half?). Jeans day at work. I think I like the shoes!
From your description, the outfit sounds great! We have a jeans day at work, too, but I might be meeting with some folks later today, so it is a Vince pleated maxi skirt and a short sleeve cashmere sweater for me.
I’m relieved to read that the “CC” outfit you are psyched about is NOT a CC t-shirt!
It sounds super cute.
Those Rothy booties sold out in a hot minute, jealous @MomofWildChild.
Sounds like a great outfit
I bet they will restock.
@MomofWildChild the outfit sounds great. I think that is a French tuck. @BunsenBurner I think you get best dressed on CC.
I happily shopped my closet this morning and wore a pair of AG pale grey skinny ankle jeans that I haven’t worn in a couple of years. I am enjoying trying to wear things I haven’t worn in a long time. It’s very easy for me to just pick the basic same outfit most days. It’s also easy for me to spend a lot of the day in my workout clothes.
Can’t believe the booties sold out so fast! So they were comfortable for all day wear?
I think I love the look of your outfit!
The booties were comfortable. The sole is thick and fairly stiff, so it wasn’t a sneaker feel.
I think your outfit sounds great @MomofWildChild ! I enjoy reading descriptions of how everyone puts their clothing together.
Remember my sparkly duster that’s not a kimono…,ha! Well. I’m in Chicago this weekend for a college reunion. At Quartino’s last night and two 30 year olds came up and wanted to know where I bought it. That’s the 2nd time with youngsters asking, so I felt pretty great and trendy!
It’s super crappy weather here this weekend, but that won’t stop us from shopping!
Yes! I’m sorry Chicago is giving you a dreary fall weekend instead of sunny & glorious!
Enjoy your reunion & shopping!
What would you wear with short snakeskin booties? I saw some (tan taupe shades) at Nordstrom Rack and really like them but have no idea how to style them.
