i don’t like it. I’ll run or bike in those kinds of shorts, for sure, but not for casual wear or with a blazer! Yuck.
I think that the look isn’t even attractive on the models. I mean, the emphasis on the front private area isn’t really a good look to me!
I wear leggings with a tunic that hits just about where the bike shorts end… if I wore that same tunic with bike shorts, folks on the bus and in the office would think I forgot to put on my pants! ?
@BunsenBurner I’m wearing the Spanx black pants with the back seam today for the first time and I like them a lot. Today is our first cool day!
I washed mine on handwash cycle in my front loader and hung to dry. They survived!
Today, I had a bunch of stuff to do so I did my best “dressing young”.
Black jeans, black and white striped shirt, French tuck, jean jacket, allbirds as I like comfortable shoes.
Seriously within an hour, I was a mess. The jeans which I looked and looked for the perfect color and fit, stretched out and were a baggy mess. The tee shirt also was a rumpled stretched out mess. The French tuck, I don’t know was askew. It got too warm for the Jean jacket.
The shoes worked fine. But I tell you, by the end of the day I felt frumpy, frumpiest
Oh no @deb922. Hate when jeans stretch out. One thing I love about my AG brand jeans is they don’t stretch out. I used to have a pair of black Old Navy jeans that looked awesome out of the dryer but would be sagging in the crouch and butt within an hour. I definitely feel the Dressing Young vibe when I wear my Allbirds with skinny or boyfriend jeans.
Just NO to the bike shorts as clothes. I have a couple of pairs of that length for the gym and even at the gym I’m not so sure I like them. Totally agree on the tunic over bike shorts look. I have a couple of dresses I throw on after the gym to do errands. If I have the bike short length exercise leggings on I have to go home and change.
If anyone has a Lularoe “supplier”, their denim is actually really good and holds its shape. I really like the look and the fit.
@deb922 I hope you don’t mind that I laughed a bit at your post - LOL - such good intentions!
Feeling frumpy is the WORST for me. It totally also turns me “frumpy-grumpy”!
I bought a pair of denim jeggings yesterday. Don’t laugh! I was “influenced” by an “influencer” - haha a favorite home decorating blogger/podcaster that I love RAVES about these and so many of her followers have echoed how great they are.
I haven’t stepped foot in an Old Navy in quite a while. But I went yesterday to look for these and there were no less than 5 of us rummaging through the display looking for our sizes - apparently they are popular! I bought a pair and love how they are and look denim but have a super comfy waistband and do feel as comfortable as leggings. I think there’s a time and place for them. There are a few different washes.
I mean $25 and 4.8 rating with over 2000 reviews - why not try them?! They come in black, three different denim blue washes and ripped or not ripped (my choice!)

If you must have pockets you’re out of luck - these are fake pockets. I usually size up in skinny skinny jeans - not in these though.
Those look great, abasket! I have some similar ones from Northface.
Darn… ya had me hooked until mentioning the fake pockets.
Back pockets are real! Just head over to the handbag thread and buy a small crossbody!!!
I rarely use front pockets on jeans! So not an issue for me. These do look temptingly good.
I h a save smallish wallet purse. I like pockets too… otherwise I loose my phone around the house (I need to keep it with me for work stuff). My pajamas have pockets too. LOL - When I don’t have pockets, DH teases me about my need to call the cellphone to find it.
@abasket cute jeggings! No sagging?
I just hate when jeans stretch out, and they all do - some worse than others. AG are pretty good. One reason why I like the new higher waisted trend is they stay up even after they stretch out a bit. With the hip hugger style, I always feel like I need to hike them up when I get up from sitting. No way to do that gracefully!
I’ve had good luck with the ON Rockstar jeans holding shape.
@HouseChatte I haven’t worn them yet to know…but that was one of the things that was noted about them was that they DIDN’T sag! I’ll let you know after I travel with them this weekend.
So I looked at the fabric content of the jeans I was wearing yesterday. They are Kut from the Kloth and I have a pair from last year that I wear all the time and don’t sag.
Both exactly the same cut and style name.
My other pair-blue- 91% cotton, 7% polyester, 2% elastase
Black-71% cotton, 15% polyester, 2% spandex
No wonder the black pair sagged. I’m pretty disappointed in myself that I didn’t look into this. Now I have a pair of jeans that really don’t work well. Ugh!
Got an email from Rothys saying they are introducing some wool shoes. I ordered the flats.
