Dressing Young (Part 1)

Dansko is pretty good on a wide foot.

Those are definitely for a gal of a “certain age.”

Do you mean Dansko or SAS - I’ve been wearing Dansko for twenty years!

I mean the SAS. I love my Dansko’s - they’re great for long hours in the kitchen!

I also love Dansko and am very pleased with this pair of sandals I bought just before Spring Break. My daughter talked me into the turquoise and I’ve been amazed with how they seem to go with everything.

They are amazing quality, my DDs have pants that are nearly 10 years old and still look great, they are pricey in Canada, but even moreso in the US. I think they set the price adjustment for the exchange rate when the CD was worth less and now that it is par they are at the same exchange.

My DD used to work there and I have a lot of old lulus and they are incredible, but I could not stand to pay $96 for yoga pants. They do have some outlet stores which is a big help!

I’ve been wearing Toms shoes lately. They fit the “dressing young” theme, I think:

I will NOT be buying those SAS shoes for at least 25 years or so.

I’m not terribly “fond” of the look of Tom’s Shoes, but for commencement my son’s senior class is wearing them. I thought that was such a neat and lovely idea. They chose Tom’s Shoes as their “organization” to support. It’s a great cause and I did buy a pair when we ordered S’s but I’ll probably use them as bedroom slippers.

The Toms Cordones look sort of like Keds:

I am getting lots of email from Spiegel. All of the models appear to be 8 feet tall and the clothing looks really clingy and long. Anyone buy from Spiegel? What’s the deal?

I haven’t thought about Spiegel in years. About 20 years ago I used to order a lot of my work clothes from them. They were a little more “edgy” than what I wear now. Quality wasn’t always the best though. I am curious now and am going to check them out.

Went to Express yesterday and bought several cute summer dresses, each below $50. I’m a size 2 but wear a medium there! Cute styles!

Spiegel - wow, they are still in business?! I still have one summer dress that I bought from them almost 20 years ago! I wear it in the summer when I’m doing light yardwork. Nothing, absolutely nothing sticks to this dress, and it is impossible to stain it!

Spiegel?

Makes me thirsty for a Tab.

^^^ lol !!!

I still remember Spiegel’s zip code… 60609. I think that’s because in the original Wheel of Fortune you had to spend your winnings to “buy” stuff, and the leftover got put onto a gifts certificate for the Spiegel Catalogue, “Spiegel, Chicago Illinois, 60609.” Thank you Don Pardo!

(Also “Write Zoom Z double-O M Box 350 Boston Mass 0-2-1-3-4 Send it to Zoom!” Yet I can’t remember any of my in-law’s zip codes, and I’ve been married for 23 years.)

I have been lurking here for a long time.

So far I have:
Not worn panty hose to a funeral.
Bought L’Oreal Sublime Glow Daily Moisturizer (didn’t like the scent of Jergens).
Started to get wigged out about my knees.
But I think my neck is okay so far.
Hi.

Too funny. I do have to admit I took a good long look at my knees the other day!

Thanks to this thread, I went out to find some Physicians Formula highlighter face powder today recommended by a previous poster. Bingo–all that brand was 40% off at my favorite drugstore. I now have the highlighter, mineral face powder, and powdered blush, all in the multi-colored format. The things you learn about on this thread…humming “Forever Young”…
