Glad to see thread started. My son is waiting on architecture.

This thread is surprisingly quiet! Has anyone gleaned any information on when RD acceptances will be released?

Yes very quiet! I see an official release date of “by April 1.”

Same as last year. But they actually came out 3/17. So hopefully before April 1!

Yes! Describing the activity in this forum as “quiet” is putting it lightly, lol! By this point, I would’ve expected lots of chatting from the EA admits. I hope this isn’t reflective of the type of school spirit a student can expect at Drexel. My son got accepted during EA to the School of Engineering. Is there anyone else out there who has already been admitted?

Hi, we are with you. Our son got accepted EA to the School of Economics and he has whittled down his final choices to this vs SHU. Very different programs and school size and feel, but he likes a lot of aspects of both. We are provisionally going to the admitted students day on April 20 and we’ve also signed up for several virtual webinars on the Coop program et al over the next month. Although our son got a nice merit award, Drexel is still very expensive. He had better merit offers onthe table from at least 3 other schools but has honed in on these two, so we’ll see.

Well, good to hear there are some folks on here whose kids have applied. Our son is a RD applicant and yes, it is very expensive.

My daughter applied EA and was admitted to Lebow Business school. We did get a good merit package but feel it is still too expensive.

That’s the knock on Drexel. I’m open to the idea that income from the co-op might offset some of the cost but I’m really not sure how to tally it up.

I tried to figure it out as well. I do think the co-op’s would help offset those years. The other years would be out of the range that we can afford though. I really love the idea of the co-ops and my D thought she would do well with the fast paced quarter system as well.

Hmm. Good point. Never thought about offsetting income from the co-cp which strangely enough, my son would gladly contribute to pay his tuition!

I hope so…

D25 got accepted EA with very generous scholarship but it is still the most expensive compared to other acceptances. Planning for attend the admitted day in April but it doesn’t look promising if they don’t offer more aid.

I looked up the plan of study for one of the programs and it appears the CO-OP timing is flexible depending on whether you are going to finish UG in 4 years or 5 years. See sample plan of study where the CO-OP can be done at the beginning of the third year or the later half of the year.

I’m showing it was March 17 last year and in 2022.

March 18 in 2021.

The 17th is a Sunday this year. Not sure if that matters. But who knows.

Hello! Our S24 was admitted to Drexel as a first year MechE major for the fall. We live in the Bay area of CA and are considering a trip back east to visit the school again (we did the perspective students’ campus tour and tour of the School of Engineering last spring). I notice they have “New Dragon Days” and “Admitted Student Days”. Does anyone know what the difference between the two is and if we can only attend one, which would be better? Thanks!

I googled as I really didn’t know. This is what I found

Offered on select days during the winter and spring, New Dragon Days are smaller and more intimate than our weekend Admitted Students Days . At a New Dragon Day, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with other students and Drexel Admissions staff.

Does anyone’s portal look a bit different? The yellow highlighted box where it said “admissions decisions will be released around April 1” disappeared…

The admissions Instagram indicates decisions are coming soon.

I couldn’t find anything on IG. By “soon” do you mean today, lol? I hope so! Thanks!
