have any of you appealed your aid without a special circumstance, and received an increase?
We did submit an appeal back in March, as our S24 was accepted EA to LeBow in Dec with a good (but not the highest) merit aid package. I called the Admissions office to find out if there was a formal appeal process. The contact I spoke to said they ādonāt really do merit aid appealsā but that they would make note of my query on the application. Almost immediately, I received an email that my appeal request had been received, and a few weeks later, they raised the merit award by 25%. We did not have special circumstances, but I did relay the range of higher offers from other schools to the Admissions contact.
We are very happy as our S24 has decided to commit to Drexel! He and I were both very impressed by the Admitted Students Day, and his choice felt natural in the end.
