Drones! (It's a Jersey thing)

I’m wondering how much the rest of the country is hearing about the New Jersey mystery drones. Hundreds of sightings of huge (car-sized sometimes?!) all over the state. No one knows where they’re coming from, and government spokespeople at every level oscillate between reassurances and total puzzlement–not very reassuring.

I haven’t seen them myself, but I live in an urban area with less sky view, and I’m not out at night that much.

Jersey folk–who’s seen them? What are your theories?

It’s beyond weird, that’s for sure! (Like living in an Orson Welles radio broadcast!)

It’s being discussed on the Hodgepodge thread.

I have been hearing about the drones in New Jersey and New York here in Iowa.

I also saw a drone today. I happened to look outside my window at work when parents were doing school pick up at the middle school across the rode this afternoon. There was a drone flying over the cars waiting in line, just going back and forth over cars stopped on the road waiting to get into the school parking lot. I have no clue what it was looking for, the cars were sitting still, people were sitting in the cars, and it was quiet.

Evidently some people saw them this week above our town - suburb of Philly (PA side, not NJ). Per a post on our town Facebook page (with conspiracy theories of course populating the comment section.)

I just read about this, as someone saw a drone in my area tonight. Allegedly, these are being used by South American gangs to keep tabs on when people are away. We are living in scary times.

I live in rural Jersey and everyone is seeing tons of them and posting pictures of “flocks” of them.

Initially, I thought they might be surveying electrical lines post-storm, but it’s too many for that.

I keep waiting for someone to trap a bunch of them to see who comes for them.

75% of the posts on our town FB page are about drones…

The drones were discussed briefly during ABC Evening News today. I thought it was a bit disconcerting; my hubby basically shrugged.

Photo taken by a neighbor tonight - all drones.
At this point I’m wondering if everyone isn’t just flying their drones to be apart of it.

Interesting article about protocol for UFO in the greater NY area - including large parts of NJ. Wondering if this is actually being followed?

These NJ drones are flown every night and are the size of cars, my son in central NJ counted a dozen at once, we are in a very congested part of NJ (sandwiched between the 3 nyc airports) and we see them too.

We must be on the same FB pages–this just showed up for me. I’m thinking, though, that there is a drone company of some kind (testing? teaching? not sure) near the airport, so there are probably drones seen there pretty often. Though that doesn’t explain the rest of the state.

My good friend is a mayor in NJ and has been doing lots of TV appearances hoping to force some information. I can’t believe that the government doesn’t know who is doing it. They just have a reason for not saying.

Drones have also been spotted in Riverside County, California. March Air Force base is there. Someone needs to bring down one of these things to determine who is doing this.

No excuse for this. The Chinese spy balloons gathered the info. I’m sure the drones are the second wave. Where is there security anymore?

Just saw several flying over my neighborhood (suburban Philly.) Someone posted on Facebook that they were out in force so I went outside to look - and yep, there they were! Could see them in every direction. It was cold so I didn’t stay out to count them, but it was more than 5. They had lights that were flashing on and off, so they go dark and then light up again - like fireflies. Very eerie on a clear, full moon night!!
