Dual Bachelors vs Masters in 4 years

I got accepted into SU ED back in December. I have received a grant from my highschool that will pay for all my tuition and all books for all four years. Between SUPA classes and AP I will be going into college as a freshman with 43 credits already with a ~3.85 GPA.

I am living off campus with my brother which is also going to be free. Pretty much have a free ride.

My Issue - I will have all 4 years of college paid for, should I

 1. Dual major over 4 years
 2. Graduate early with a single bachelors in 3 years & work on a masters at Syracuse
 3. Take the minimum number of credits every semester for all four years to aim for the best GPA possible, try to go onto Ivy League for grad school

I also am open to spending a little extra to take a couple classes every summer. I see working at a lot at a minimum wage job as a waste of time I could be spending working on schoolwork to graduate sooner and make real money.

I got accepted into the LC Smith Engineering school, and would like to get a dual degree in ChemE and Business. I want to go onto to grad school or pharmacy school. If i go into pharmacy, I would go for a 5 year dual degree program where you earn your PharmD & MBA. If I go onto grad school I would get a masters in a field of Engineering and maybe later get an MBA.

I’m very interested in ChemE and business. I want to run my own company or I want eventually move up in a company to corporate management level such as vice CEO or be on a board of directors. I know having a great work ethic, extensive education, and passion will give me the best chance of getting there.

There is also several other possibilities. I’m not looking for a particular answer, just insight as to what options I really have and which would be best. I want to get the most out of my time at Syracuse University in terms of my future.

You have options, but rule out 3 - waste of time you could be learning and exploring. #1 is likely easy based on my son’s situation. He’s a current senior, came in with 18 (about) AP credits and is getting a BA Poly Sci and MS Information Management (from the iSchool). He only needed 17 credits entire senior year. I know that some programs have an “fast track” program to jump start your Master’s while an undergrad. This allows you to transition into some grad courses your senior year (assuming you have your BS winding down) to knock out 6-12 credits senior year. So this might be a good way to go.

You talk of starting your own business, so here’s another tip. SU offers a startup oriented twist to your Master’s degree through their KEEF program. This provides 24 credits of paid grad credit over 1 year and 1 summer towards a Master’s. As this link shows, you’ll need to be doing quite well to get into this program.

It’s good you’re looking at these options now since as you start at SU you’ll see time flies and having a path roughed out will help.

Good luck.
