Dual Enrollment Courses from Community College (in California)

Hi. I am in California (not sure if other states have the same rule). In our school district, community colleges offer something called “dual enrollment” (which is NOT concurrent enrollment). Those of you who know what that means - my question: are dual enrollment courses reported on the school transcript, and do they boost your high school GPA? (Yes, I am NOT asking if this boosts your UC GPA, but high school GPA). Thanks.

For my daughter’s school, the answer is no. The DE classes are on a totally separate transcript and are a separate GPA. They don’t appear on the high school transcript at all and are not counted in the her high school GPA.

I think it depends on your high school’s policy, though, so you should check with your guidance counselor to be sure.

The answer is likely specific to the high school. Ask the high school.

So, in our district, that’s the “concurrent enrollment” which is totally separate. Okay- I will check with high school. Thanks,
