Apparently the State Trooper Jim Bob brought his son to did nothing about the incident. The State Trooper was later prosecuted for child pornography. You couldn’t write more appropriate TV script. Sad this is real and not a TV script.
Someone upthread mentioned there is a Duggar who wants to leave. The oldest daughter, Jana, told Jim Bob this last winter that she wants to move out to go to college, so perhaps that’s which Duggar the post was referring to. From what I read, he was not happy about it. For Christ’s sake, she’s 25 years old! Let her move on with her life!
I would think that a 15 year old boy who was repeatedly and compulsively touching young girls is unlikely to change just because his family will be praying for him.
Well, speaking of crazy, seems Mama June is ready to sue TLC if they don’t take the show ff the air.
I read that Josh not only told Anna, who he is now married to, but also her parents when they first started “courting.” I honestly cannot imagine not quietly encouraging my D to end the relationship after that disclosure. I am thinking their “celebrity” status caused a lot of people to turn a blind eye to issues that would normally raise alarm.
The scary thing is this kid is their eldest. There is lots of pathology potentially being handed down to 19 kids and counting.
I happened to read some of the comments after one of the articles linked earlier and saw this one (in response to people saying perhaps young men/boys shouldn’t be put in charge of changing their baby sister’s diapers when babysitting because that could tempt them): “Boys can’t change diapers or they’ll become baby rapists? These people have incredibly low standards for their men.”

Apparently TLC has cancelled the show. Can’t blame Mama June ( @lookingforward) for wanting consistency and fairness with child molesters!
This story just reminds me that no family is without its black sheep. Or to use modern terms, troubled, mentally ill, or disturbed. When these manifest in socially abhorrent behaviors, which all do not, it is especially difficult for the families.
I am sorry for the Duggars. But I cannot stand the hypocrisy of their being against LBGT yet protecting a child molester. No, most teenage boys do not molest their sisters and others. And for the Duggars to profit on their procreation of a very large number of children, espousing their strong religious beliefs while hiding this information is unethical and disingenuous.

The show has NOT been cancelled - they just pulled the reruns. The TLC website still has episodes and blogs.

Intersestingly I first saw this story as a link on a gay friends Facebook page. I took it it as. - " You condemned me for being gay while You are a child molester?"
In other words, this man was condemning LGBT folk for participating in sinful acts while he was engaging in real sinful acts.

Neither. I am asking for clarification. I see no connection between the two.
I could understand a statement like “But I cannot stand the hypocrisy of their being against LBGT yet keeping a (same sex) lover on the some” because that would be hypocritical. I can understand the hypocrisy of denouncing LGBT people as “child molesters” (as momma did) and then protecting their own molester. But I don’t understand your statement as it was said. That’s all.
