Duggars in the news.

Is Anna actually receiving counseling?

She could be reveiving “counsel and help” from her parents and other family/church members. I don’t interpret that to mean she is seeing a therapist or other trained professional. I so wish she could assert herself a bit. She seems so controlled by her parents and the Duggars.

I read that the comments on FB by her brother who trashed Josh were deleted - and his entire FB is now inactive. How do the Duggars control extended family such as this?

I am actually surprised Bob Duggar allowed him to go to a treatment center. It must be one within their cult.

According to the article,

"In the wake of eldest son Josh’s cheating scandal, the Duggar family source says Josh’s wife Anna will continue to have little contact with the world beyond the family’s tightly controlled lifestyle.

“The scary thing is, I don’t know who is talking to Anna, outside of the people in Duggarville,” says the source."

Does that mean she has no access to what is being discussed in the media?
Looks like the only way to help her is either have an order to get her out of there for her own safety or an intervention from Dr. Phil which probably wouldn’t be allowed. I don’t think anyone in her close knit family would allow her to escape this belief system or culture. Unless she says no I am not dealing with this anymore nothing can be done. I hope her brother is able to get her out of this cult. I get the impression Bob Duggar will make sure Anna doesn’t escape from their clutches.

It is strange the Duggar sisters are very public posting on facebook and other media outlets but we don’t hear directly from Anna. I get the feeling she is completely shutdown and under intense family pressure to stay. All the decisions regarding her life are being made for her. It is as if woman are programmed robots that do whatever they are told to do by the male heads of the family.

Sad. We need a “Free Anna” movement. She has no voice.

“You are not allowed to get mad. It’s not godly for a woman.”

Well then I am very “ungodly.” How utterly ridiculous.

I feel like Anna had an Instagram account at one point. Maybe inactive now.

TLC should do a show on Anna and her kids without any family intervention just professional counselors showing her escape from this culture. She would then have an income to live on and take care of her kids. Her husband would not be allowed on the show and neither would any other members of the Duggar family.

How can the Duggar family provide any support for her and her children when they have so many of their own to take care of?

Disappointed, but not surprised. In Touch calling it a faith-based rehab.

@rockvillemom - yes, I read it was a faith-based rehab, too. Isn’t that what they sent Josh to when they found out he was molesting his younger sisters?

Makes me sick. A porn star is saying she was with him twice, and he got violent.

On a different not (and if I looked long enough I could find it), much earlier in this thread, there were several references to In Touch Weekly having much more damning information on Josh, and that it would be released in time. I wonder if this is what they were referring to, but if it was, I don’t think they were the ones who broke the news. Perhaps they had a really strong source telling them some of this stuff, but it didn’t meet their standards and they were trying to prove it another way, and in the meantime, the information was released through AM.

InTouch also reporting on one supposed partner

When he was a teen - he was basically sent to stay with a friend from their church who was renovating a building. I don’t think it even fit the description of faith-based rehab. Basically prayer and heavy labor, from what I have read.

Can only hope he is in a more legit rehab today.

The now defunct website, Television without Pity, had a very active forum about the Duggars. When Josh was sent away the first time it was not mentioned in the show but people did post on the forum about it so it wasn’t a complete secret. There was some weird new age name for the program but some posters implied that it was a form of incarceration.

It’s hard to feel sorry for the guy because he is so smug but he is one messed up dude and his upbringing did not help one bit. I hope he goes to a legitimate rehab but I highly doubt it.

No, it didn’t, but that didn’t keep Jim Bob from calling it that, which is why I am skeptical about this new one.

So - here’s where Josh Duggar is - more of the same - prayer and physical labor - no mental health treatment or counseling:

Ugh… just, ugh.

What in the world is he going to learn there that he doesn’t already know? There’s no growth from just rehashing the same-old-same-old.

The Duggars own a small plane - John David has his pilot’s license. Flightaware has the Duggar plane traveling from Springdale Arkansas to Rockport IL and back. Rockport IL being the location of the Reformers Unanimous location affiliated with the North Love Baptist Church.

@rockvillemom I am in awe of your investigative skills!

I’m a little scared of them.

Can’t hide on the Internet, can’t hide in the sky! Lol.

This whole labor camp rehab thing reeks to say the least. Ugh indeed!

I probably should find something more productive to do with my time, lol. I’m a little obsessed with the Duggar story because I feel so bamboozled by this family.
