Would not surprise me. She already has her wedding picture on People - with a very un-Duggar display of cleavage! But I will say the wedding description sounded very nice.
Can you imagine how uncomfortable that conversation must have been between JimBob and his sons… “OK boys, I want you to congratulate your cousin, but look down at her shoes or up at the ceiling when you do so.”

So as someone who doesn’t watch the Duggars, is Amy a particularly big part of the family? Does she subscribe to the same religion?

Amy was always a refreshing change of pace when she appeared on the show.
I have two questions about this Amy
- Why is her last name Duggar if her mom is Jim Bobs sister? Did they not give her her fathers name?
- The article said "her fiancé of less than two months". Was this also one of those courtship arranged marriages? Has she been with this guy for a long time but only recently engaged?
Cousin Amy’s biological dad was not married to her mother hence the Duggar last name.
First kiss in March 2015 at 3 months into the relationship.
I believe they met summer 2014 - dated a few months - engaged summer 2015. Quick - but not a Duggar-style courtship.
Amy is Jim Bob’s only niece - the daughter of his older sister and only sibling. Religious - but more modern - more typical. I don’t think she would garner any attention whatsoever were it not for the Duggar connection.
Michele Duggar’s sister is gay and Jim Mob’s niece was born out of wedlock. The extended family members seem to be more likeable.
And more typical of “reality” as opposed to Jim Bob’s tightly defined parameters. With 19 kids - it will be very interesting to see what the future holds.

So I wonder if Jim Bob and his sister were raised so conservatively. Because there’s only two of them I imagine their parents practiced birth control. Wonder what sent Jim bob over the edge?
@teriwtt - front page article (we are a slow news town) today about Josh probably being at the Reformers Unanimous facility in Rockford, IL. Apparently, Michelle and Jim Bob have referred people to the place in the past.
There’s an article out there that claims a number of the extremes shown were insisted on by TLC. It includes comments from, supposedly, Anna’s BIL, who mentions, eg, the scene before Josh’s wedding where JB had the man talk with him. Dunno.
Supposedly, JB and Michelle had their uber conversion when she was-- well, something about going on bc and losing her second pregnancy, feeling guilty. In hs, supposedly she was not so conservative.
Grandma (JB’s mother), who now lives with them following the death of her husband, was seen in slacks in early shows, but now that she’s living on the compound, she wears a skirt. I believe he was raised as religious but not as intense as he is today.
Yea, they pretty much blame everything on her having a miscarriage, which is completely ignorant. 33% of pregnancies end in miscarriage - most happen before women even know they are pregnant.
From then on out, it was, no birth control pills - ‘God will determine how many kids we have’, and it all went downhill from there, and that lifestyle consumed their lives.
In some ways, the cousin’s story fascinates me. I am the niece of a relatively well-known, very conservative talking head. Occasionally, people put two and two together (moreso when I was working in politics) and it sometimes leads to an interesting conversation about how we are so dang different. (I thank the stars that he is not Duggar famous and that I have no visible connection to him other than a strong visual similarity and a last name.)
Even using natural fertility, Michelle has had an unusual number of pregnancies and children. It really makes me think she might be using other fertility meds (or, she could naturally just be super, super fertile- what do I know?).
