I’ll give you that - a college football game is a really normal activity. A 17 yr old and 21 yr old going to it via a 4 hour small plane ride piloted by your brother??? Not so typical (and, out of character for this strict family)
And, not least of all, as a parent, wouldn’t you be concerned about all the media (and fans/not-so-fans) that could potentially harass them on their adventure? I would forget a chaperone and hire a bodyguard!

Gee, it’s a good thing that Jesus’ grandparents (great-grandparents? I can’t remember whether or not Mary was a “virgin” birth as well) and beyond didn’t hear that. That’s a lot of time that God allowed people to sin in order to keep the species alive before he sent down his son.

Here’s the rub: if you truly believe everything you “want” is God’s will, then I guess you can go ahead and do anything you want. After all, he sent you some donors, he must approve, so why not blow the money as you wish?
So convoluted. Hate the thought that, ultimately, that’s the subtext from this family and the show. Do whatever you want and if God doesn’t strike you down on the spot, it’s fine, it’s blessed, purposeful, worthy…and you’re better than the next person. And you can always find a Biblical quote to prove it.
