Well, when you invite however many thousands of people to your wedding… you end up with a lot of stuff!
Hey, look: Guatemala uses 110 volt, 60 cycle electricity, same as the US. So maybe those appliances will work. But having lived in another country, it feels insane to cart that much stuff. We sent two suitcases and a footlocker, for two years. You can buy a freaking toaster oven there. Or maybe it’s the curling irons?

I had a friend who was moving with her husband and two kids to Indonesia (remote place) and his company paid for one shipping crate of stuff to be shipped. She shopped and shopped, taking all kinds of things like bikes for her kids for several years (sizes), mac and cheese, laundry detergent, underwear. I thought it was crazy. Part of living in a foreign country is living like a local, not bringing every comfort from home.

I’m skeptical of missionary work in general, but now according to the article above, Jill and Derick aren’t even doing it. They’re jetting back and forth and taking language classes, but they were not approved by their religion to be missionaries, and they apparently aren’t doing any missionary work. They’re just religious hucksters and scam artists, soliciting donations for religious work, and using the money on themselves.

Yet, TLC keeps trying to find a way to exploit this family for the revenues while the family is still clueless at how damaging this kind of notoriety ultimately ends up being because they’re so unbelievably stupid and naive. Absolutely NO ONE with the last name of Duggar should ever agree to any TV show again - it.does.not.end.well.!
For a few reasons, the language studies don’t bother me as much as the jetting back and forth home and the seeming lack of a sponsor org. At this point, it’s pretty aimless.

I’d hazard a guess that CinderDuggar (Jana) is home babysitting her siblings while her mom and her sister make themselves ‘available’ to their husbands.
