@gtracyiphone don’t worry your sat didn’t suck as much as mine.

Well i am hopefully planning on getting in and i still have the tab but who knows and really who cares about a tab i just wan the email

I don’t agree. My thought is that if you’re in, you can’t change your profile anymore. The midyear report is something you mail in and they put up for you. There is no need for the person that is accepted to update his profile anymore. (this opinion might be bias for obvious reasons)

hmm that is true good point. Now stop scaring me !!!

haha I didn’t submit the optional essay which was the most hideous thing I’ve ever done

@gtracyiphone: but they should still be able to change their email and such, and they should be able to see through an online interface whether or not their mid-term reports have been received, just like the early year reports. There’s no reason why Duke would suddenly remove that ability for acceptees.

i am new to the forum and am eding to duke. i still have the tabs as well. if they mean anything at all i would have to agree with the logic that they are for accepted/differed students because it would make sense that duke would want to have their most updated information for mailings and such. if it means anything i also was contacted about not having my ed agreement in.

i doubt any of this means anything, but this is my personal take on the situation.

goodluck everybody

@MW2isawesome

why do you think that you will get in. ( i want to know if your thoughts are the same as mine)

Anyone who is rejected doesn’t need to change his/her profile either. So, maybe whoever has the tab is deferred? Just a guess. I still have the tab.

@guiseppehong: that’s very unlikely.

@shockazulu: But if you’re in, you don’t need to update or review anything. They do the midyear stuff for you. If they want to update you, they would simply send an email to you at your new email address they give you (if they do that once your accepted, i don’t know)

Isn’t mid-year report sent from your school? The Update tab is just for changing your personal information like phone #,email, etc. You don’t necessarily need that to submit mid-year report, right?

SimplyMe72: I thought I might had a chance, but after I see the stats of other applicants. I would say no.

im liking the idea that if you don’t have the tab you are rejected

As stated before Duke only defers a very small amount of applicants ED, and it would be unlikely to have a group of those deferred applicants on this forum. It would not make sense for the tabs to indicate only deferral.

well i am an athlete and the coaches said that i would most likely get accepted or deferred. They said it is very unlikely for me to get rejected.

that’s not true, the dean said that more people are deferred than rejected. they are only rejected if they are simply not qualified. That is what I was told at a meeting for duke legacy kids

@gtracyiphone: That’s not true. Again, there’s not reason why they would suddenly remove the ability to change your email address and other information and why they would remove the online interface for seeing whether or not they have received mid-year reports. It’s much more efficient to have a website with all of this information in one place, which is why these websites exist at all. There’s no reason why the ease of organization (as opposed to dealing with scattered emails) would only be afforded to applicants.
