Is the site down for everyone?
@lizzy1234 What if we have just CSS and FAFSA?
Don’t lose hope. Something good may come from where you least expect. It looks like you and my S applied to the same schools. We’ve met on the same threads. All the best. @kuhlm44937
2123 students (with a 6.4% acceptance rate) and 99 deffered students will be told they are admitted at 7! The 6.4% acceptance rate worries me considering Pratt acceptance is usually lower
Yes.Mine is down @PW1234
unknown 2022-where did you see those stats?
go to today.duke.edu and search 2022 and select the second article.
I was waitlisted from Brown last night and straight-up rejected from Harvard and Yale. Really hoping for Duke tonight! I want some more options. I’m nervous but hoping that my Robertson semifinalist status boosted my application to the “accepted” range
Duke likely letter recipient here! Good luck to all and remember you are not defined by college decisions.
I’ve been through far worse things than college rejections, and yet this is the one thing that hurts the most :’( :’(
@waiting4acepting Rejection. CSS Profile and FAFSA are two automatic checkmarks. No checkmarks next to IDOC docs means they didn’t bother pulling your IDOC nor did Duke bother emailing you to button up missing items to extend a financial aid award.
@lizzy1234 how do you know that colleges need to pay College Board for pulling documents from IDOC. Just curious
@lizzy1234 Thanks for your response! I’m curious, how do you know all of this information? I’m grateful for your response!! I’m just curious as well.
@waiting4acepting My high school is huge with a lot of smart kids gunning for top colleges. Easy to pick up the patterns from following current CC threads, reading prior year CC threads, and comparing what smartest friends see on their portals. Not every college has transparent portals that let us see break down of financial aid docs; thankfully Duke, Brown, Rice, Notre Dame and a couple of others do.
@mmish321 College Board does nothing for free. And why would a college want to deal with forms from tens of thousands of random kids’ families, 95% of which will be rejected? Much more manageable, and logical, to just deal with the 1,000 or so financial aid kids they are admitting
@waiting4acepting she doesn’t she’s full of bs and is everywhere. someone with LL only has CSS and FAFSA
@lizzy1234 At times some of the mails they send us go to our spam or junk mail section. If you don’t visit there occasionally you would surely miss important mails. I asked my son whether he had received a mail from Duke regarding the submission of Tax Return forms when i saw that it was outstanding at the application checklist portal. He said no, and i told him to check through his junk mail. Lo and behold it was there.
@Mmrosa You’re proving my point? Unfulfilled items, likely admitted, then Duke emailed you.
Of course there’s always one or two naysayers relying on hearsay who claim otherwise. Salty kids just trying to stoke confusion. These financial aid scoops have been known for years and every old thread has one of two relentless users who are irritated the trick was true.
This year UChicago had a 100% reliable early scoop too, unrelated to financial aid.
On my Portal I have only 2 things listed CSS and FAFSA and both are checked and nothing else is there. @lizzy1234 this means rejection but I submitted everything ahead of time.
@emily523 I got waitlisted at princeton too but I’m from nj. are you from nj too?? I’m wondering if that affected my decision.
The last time I checked I had checkmarks for my W-2 form and tax return and whatever. The portal is down tho
