No, the international students are from all ethnicities and races. My daughter happens to be of Chinese heritage but she is only one of a handful from the U.S. like that. The picture below if of her and a group of friends who went on a day trip. I think it shows the variety of nationalities there.
Hi all, it seems the checklist has disappeared. Is this a sign that decisions could be sooner than expected? It seems quite early to remove the checklist, as I know Duke decisions are usually within a couple days of Ivy Day.
Edit: For reference, Checklist was hidden on 20th March last year for 31st March decisions.
Yeah, I see that too. WeirdâŠ
We donât have checklist but financial aid portal.
was there some number of addresses indicator for DUke?
somethings cooking with these colleges. Even Pomona made wierd portal changes a few days ago while usually those are expected a day before the admission release date.
What in specific?
yes, checklist disappeared this morningâŠ
I suspect those schoolsâ social media teams just copy each otherâs behavior. Maybe try to grab some attention?
OMG this is exciting that decisions are probably made but also nervous because they have not requested any documents in IDOC to verify information so financial aid tab only lists CSS profile.
But I do understand from looking at previous yearâs threads that even if you have a long list of items downloaded from IDOC that doesnât mean anything either.
I agree with you. But at least they donât eliminate financial checklist. Columbia eliminated all financial checklist. So it isnât end yet.
Hello. I saw that March 19 was a possible release day for Duke on the crimsoneducation website. Not sure if the means anything. My daughterâs stats are right in the expected ranges for Duke, so we really do not know what to expect. Fortunately, like many others on the is blog, she has other options and from a parents perspective, a free ride at a top school makes a lot of sense. So the decision will be a double edged sword. Good luck All. !
I wonder how accurate they typically are in predicting dates?
A little late to the party but what does getting an interview the last week of Feb mean when Duke does interviews based on competitiveness of application?
They donât do interviews based on competitiveness of application.
From the Duke Website:
Alumni interviews are an optional component of the Duke application process. Due to the volume of applications to Duke, we regret we are unable to interview all applicants. The Admissions Office will prioritize interviews for students for whom we need additional information. Not being offered an interview does not affect your chances of admission. After students submit their applications, those offered an interview will be matched with alumni volunteers who will contact them via phone or email to arrange a virtual interview. Students may expect the interview to last 30-60 minutes. We do not offer on-campus interviews with admissions officers, nor can students request an interview.
mine looks like that too but says schedule 1
We have six items like that under the CSS.
Exactly. They prioritize interviews for students about whom they need more info â not for the best applicants. They donât need more info to admit the best applicants.
