Duke is #1 !!!

Wow those women can play basketball! They are 20 - 0. I was just watching highlights on ESPN and they have a girl that shoots from NBA 3 point range. Do they get the same fan support that the men’s team gets? I want to see this team play.

Well bah…UNC is undefeated but are ranked #2 with a better record (22-0)…

Plus, I personally saw UNC kick the crud out of Duke just last year in Chapel Hill (and they won in Durham)!

With the same stars contributing to UNC this year, I still believe UNC is the true #1 :D

Feb. 8 will be judgment day (hopefully they will both still be undefeated after Md)!

Wait until Maryland plays Duke at home…and in the end all that really matters is who wins the last game!

GO TERPS!

^haha! One of ldgirl’s fave t-shirts is her ‘Fear the Turtle’ shirt (she picked at NHD in College Park a couple of years ago).

But, it IS about to get pretty interesting in the Research Triangle that’s for sure…for both the men and women. Btw…I was checking out UNC-Duke tickets on E-bay and, good grief!, some two ticket packages were selling at $1500!

GO! 'HEELS!

DS#2 way up there in cold Yankee land has made his flight arrangements for the various games at UNC and State that he CANNOT MISS (his words). Two of his very dear friends’ families are season ticket holders, have been for years and so life revolves around bball dates. He is out-of-season now for his sport but he has conditioning so he has to take time off, coaches understand, don’t know how is profs feel! Other son also made special arangements to see the Duke/State game and for the State/VA game wednesday. His friend’s family are also season ticket holders for State so he goes to many of those as well. He is also a big baseball fan so there is a group of them that go to the college baseball games and head south to Florida during spring break for spring training. They all have so much fun!

Between this thread on great basketball in Research Triangle, the one about in-state tuition and the one about re-locating I am again clearly reminded why I dragged 5 kiddos, 3 dogs, 2 kitties and 1 Mr. Rabbit from one side of the continent to the other. It was a nightmare, but gosh, we are having too much fun. Well, at least MOST of us are!!!

Kat
DS#2 made sure he would be here for the UNC/State game 2/3.

how many championships have duke won? oh right, none :)

Go Deacs…oh wait, we’re a football school now. We don’t do basketball anymore. ;)

There is very good support for the women’s team when they play at Duke. They sell out, have special t-shirts, cheer sheets, etc. for many of the games. S1 has really enjoyed going to those games, too.

Duke beat MD who had been #1 all season, thus Duke is ranked higher than UNC right now. Hopefully they can bean UNC twice this year!

on Sunday, the No. 1 Blue Devils became the first team in ACC history to go undefeated in the regular season.

They are still rollin! :)

Congrats to the Lady Blue Devils! (Not sure WHAT happened with my 'Heels yesterday since the Mens game was pre-empted in our area. But I think I’m glad I didn’t see it.)

Congratulations to the Lady Blue Devils!! We went to their game at UMD last weekend and loved watching them!! It has been a great team effort all season–hope the post season is just as terrific!! They even got to have a bonfire on West Campus!!

Wow! They ended the season at 29-0 !!! Amazing. :)

according to the news, this is “the first unbeaten regular season in Atlantic Coast Conference history.”

it will be interesting to see if Gail can finally pull out a championship. with all her success in recruiting and regular season play, she has never produced during the tournament

If she does, they may permanently re-name K’Ville. ;)

GO BLUE DEVIL GALS!!!

We’re PROUD of you!!!

I got one word for you from us shivering Yankees. CONNECTICUT! As in the womens’ Connnecticut Husky basketball team. Yeah yeah, Duke is unblemished so far this year, but when you’ve done it more than once and won multiple championships, call me.

HA!!! Duke goes down to… RUTGERS!!! Now we Joyzians have another college team to be oh so proud of. Time to break out the Rutgers banner again!! (Take that, football!!)

(You gotta feel for that poor Duke girl choking at the freethrow line! :frowning: )

Oh, Duke… Sob! I really thought you’d go all the way. There’s always next year!!!

Ho Hum. again, the ‘dynasty’ fails to produce.

They are just going to reload. They have #1 recruit in the Wash DC area among others coming in…
