Is my understanding correct ? - Duke does not have EA, only ED, so if I am applying to Duke ED Nov 01, I cannot apply EA to other private colleges on Nov 01 like MIT ?
Is anyone got an interview after applying for the early decision?
After after applying to Duke ED on November 4, my son has received a virtual interview call with a Duke alumni. I didn’t expect that Duke schedule the interview just one day after applying . Is this the interview for screening the applicant before reviewing the application?
I think for Early Decision Interviews are given to everyone, so not evaluative. I have heard RD is more screening because of influx of applicants.

I was told the same - Duke tries to give every ED applicant an interview. My son has his scheduled this weekend.

Is is possible for an ED applicant to get accepted without an interview? I haven’t gotten an interview request yet, and it is now looking like I won’t.
My son’s interviewer said reports were due by the 18th, so you likely won’t have an interview at this point. Did you select the box on your application that you would like an interview if available? I don’t have any knowledge on how much an interview makes or breaks your chances for ED.
Yes, I did select I wanted an interview. Someone I talked to yesterday said they received their interview invitation yesterday morning, but I don’t know anymore.
My daughter’s interview isn’t until this Thursday, so I think the interviewers must have a bit more time to submit.
My daughter just received her request yesterday and it included options for next week.

No problem! I just received my interview invitation today. Technically early thursday morning. It was definitely very alarming for me at first haha.

Does an interview request by admissions mean that the applicant has a high chance of getting in? How many applicants get an interview, like what percentage?
Every ED applicant will have chance to have interview. But it was a good sign of your application are in Duke and it in progress.

How many ED applications for 2025, is this count available somewhere?
