Dumb question for CG and hurricanes

<p>Remember, I live in CO–we don’t have many coasts. Do ships and the CG specifically just move away before the hurricane and then come back? Or do they try to ride it out? I imagine the CG can’t move out too far as they will be needed. Please be patient with a landlubber. ;-)</p>
