Don’t want people to misunderstand the previous post- I have heard that if there is a need the amount can be greater NOT the only music scholarships awarded
@Emmycat my son’s acceptance letter had the PS referencing his volunteer work as an EMT.
@jdcollegedad agree - we have 4 kids. One is at a smaller LAC for Nursing and was given great merit there and loves it. He had other choices but most were $10k more. Now he is in his 2nd year we are so glad he will get out with little debt and a great degree. Furman and Clemson my son loves but so far they do not love him enough back to give him $. UMass Amherst will be where he might land, luckily they have an excellent business school but it is just going to be tough getting him to that place. It doesnt help that its cold and raw here and a lot nicer in SC!
Called Furman and they are essentially forcing our hand by saying they will not be giving any other merit info until March which is due date for other FA FAFSA and CSS. That said we are not heading to Furman.
