Many students that were in our Nov. 17th admission decision lunch were accepted. I also know of others that were accepted through a different program. It is an official notification of acceptance. The letter is from admission and says “Congratulations, you have been offered admission to Virginia Tech beginning Fall 2020. An offer packet will be mailed to you by February 22nd. Your offered major is General Engineering”. I’m not sure when Honor College acceptance will be announced. However, my son was interviewed for one of the Honors program scholarships. I guess we will continue to wait. His EA application to Harvard was deferred. So we are waiting those results too (end of March).
And does anybody else think that admissions doesn’t understand what it’s like to wait for a decision to their school. Sending an email out that has “your VT decision” as part of the subject is just MEAN! Especially since the message in the email just restates the date that has been established since August. It’s like they enjoy pulling on the strings.
@PLO2020@newty25 The figures you are citing are for the academic year 2018-19, which represent the application stats for students who applied between Nov. 2017 and January 2018. They are not the statistics for the students who applied in 2018 that are currently in their 2nd semester - that would be listed as a 2019-20 cohort.
@HokieCrazy i wonder if that email was pre planned regardless
Because that is the date they stated and then Friday they will feel they are doing something nice by letting these kids know a day early
I start to wonder whether this is a hint for those who have received email. We don’t really know what is happening now and why some received the email notice this afternoon and some did not. Please ask your kids to check their inbox/junk/spam/promotions folders and continue to report whether you have received the email or not.
