Son Accepted w/ Honors College
Economics - Coll of Sci
OOS (Calif)
3.76 uw/4.04wt
School doesnât rank

Are you sure you applied Early Action and not Regular Decision?
Accepted (college of liberal arts) OOS. 1530 SAT and ~100 average. Wasnât offered honors college though, which is a little disappointing
If it wasnât your top choice, then thereâs nothing to be frustrated about. You just proved my point.
Thank you, I feel like an idiot right now but I was accepted!
-OOS
-College of engineering
-1350 SAT, (720 math, 630 reading)
-4.4 WGPA, 3.68 UWGPA
I donât think thatâs the case. If thereâs a big trend in a major where acceptedâs decline the offer, they could start pulling before then.
Why would you feel like an idiot? You were just accepted into a great school. YOU did that work so you should be very proud of your accomplishments.
I think I understand your comment now. BUT my statement still stands. Be proud of the hard work you have done to get you where you are now. Go Hokies!!
Daughter accepted to Engineering OOS (FL)
GPA 4.6
SAT 1330
13 AP classes
Accepted into Honors
My daughter got an email the other day saying her decision would be a ton 2/22.
For those that were accepted that plan to go elsewhere, please decline your VT acceptance, asap, then. Maybe my son still has a chance. Iâm still shockedâŠespecially after seeing lower stats on some of the people that are accepted. I do realize that stats donât tell the whole story, too, but they have to tell some of the story.

Yes and then the twitter feed announced it would be today at 5. Good Luck!!
Thanks to all posting their stats, IS vs. OOS and major. Iâm lurking for next year when my S likely applies so this is very helpful!
Iâm so sorry for the those denied in what looks like yield protection. Thatâs super frustrating.
Waitlisted OOS Engineering. 1410 SAT. 8 APâs, 3.8 UW GPA, Eagle Scout. Lots of ECâs and Volunteering.
@HokieCrazy i am shocked your son didnât get in. VT is really messed up. Esp since you are legacy.

Trust me - the info posted this year wonât be predictive of what you can expect next year, nor will it reduce confusion when class of 2025 results are posted. This is an eyedropperâs worth of data in an ocean.
Accepted OOSâŠ
31 ACT, 4.0wGPA, 6 AP in STEM areas.
Major: Statistics.
2-sport varsity athlete for 3yrs each + captain, and strong comm service.
Small merit award ($1400), No Honors (I didnât think he applied for Honors?). Have others seen the Merit yet? Click on Financial Aid. Please include this info if you see it.
Iâm confused on the Early Action process. If youâre waitlisted - you donât go to the regular decision list?
What does everyoneâs financial aid award look like? Mine only has listed a few lines of aid granted (loans, grants, etc.) but nothing to help figure out the actual cost.

That would be deferred, which VT doesnât do for EA, since RD is in 2 weeks. This list is really just to make sure they hit the number of students they want in this class. They are being overly cautious because of last year, which I think was to be expected.
