Does VT send email acceptances or USPS letters?
@cogmomofthree VT will announce when decisions will be released on social media. Applicants will have to log into their VT applicant portal to see their decision status. I would imagine accepted students will receive acceptance material via mail a few days after the online release.
@cogmomofthree @Ma_Larkey Just an FYI - be prepared for the mailed acceptance packet to NOT arrive in your mailbox within days after the online release. In prior years it has taken as long as long as a month for the hard copy to arrive. (EA2023 thread is full of comments to that effect). I donât recall it impacting being able to matriculate though.
My self-reported coursework changed to say that it was received today. When I checked earlier this week it said the date it was submitted. Hmmmm⊠what do yâall think? Decisions coming out earlier than expected as a Valentineâs day surprise? Haha
Twitter quiet this morning. Not looking like early release for this Friday.
Last year they didnât post the tweet about it until 12:30 so still trying to have at least some hope. The waiting is becoming exhausting.
I donât have a Twitter account. Will they announce/hint on Facebook as well or should I sign up for Twitter?
@hope2have2Hokies Iâm pretty sure theyâll do a similar post on Facebook. Twitter is an excellent resource though - virtually every department at VT has their own feed. Less to slog through than Facebook.
what is the twitter page @
Itâs 1:00pm EST and still no tweet from VT admissions. Will it be tomorrow or next Friday? We will soon to find out.
I think it will be anywhere from next Wed-Fri with Friday being probably the date
Yes, my daughterâs self-reported coursework date changed as well. I had noticed this before so doubt it means anything.
Had hoped to hear something today, since GMU just sent my son his Regular Decision acceptance today - their notification date was advertised as 3/1/2020.

@Bmn274 Applying for Corps of Cadets helps a lot with admissions, so you should feel optimistic.
@Bmn274 - Could you please explain why applying for Corps of Cadets will help with admission chances?
A moderator of a service academy forum wrote about Virginia Tech: âPeople who indicate they are going to join the Corps of Cadets get some additional consideration for admission to the Universityâ and someone on reddit said they asked the admission office and two different people in the admission office said it was a factor.
Since Virginia Tech is one of only six senior military colleges by federal law 10 U.S. Code §âŻ2111(f) , it seems reasonable to take into consideration. But I canât personally verify.
My D got a call from a professor regarding a scholarship app for her major. He said she should expect to get an admissions decision on 2/21.
I know when DS applied EA we possibly wonât hear until Feb 22nd. This was his 1st choice for engineering but with other acceptances received for months now he committed to RIT. I wish we new by this past week but he said RIT is my 1st choice now. He was tired of waiting. Oh well. Good luck everyone
Anyone else unable to access their application portal?
