@PLO2020- IB predicted scores do not equal GPA- IB doesnât work that way. The student is international. The SAT score is low for engineering- but it was low on English, not math. What are your predicted scores on Chemistry, Physics and Math?
@yomo123 - For IB predicted scores, 7 = A, 6 = B, 5 = C and 4 = D. Please list your IB scores for individual subjects and we will find out how good is 29/42.
@PLO2020- Predicted scores are assumptions- itâs what the teacher predicts the student will score on the exit exam- exits they wonât take until after they are accepted. Sometimes students do much better sometimes they donât. You canât really make it equivalent to GPA. IB kids in the US typically get grades and then the scores are just used for credit like AP.
@yomo123 Obviously VT is very competitive for engineering. Being an international student puts you under different criteria. The IB programme is considered to be very rigorous. You are strong in subjects that are stem, but I am not an admissions person, so I canât tell you your chances. I wish you the best of luck.
I just checked with VT admissions. They do not defer from early action. Early action applicants will be offered, denied, or waitlisted. Good luck to all EA applicants. The long wait will be over soon.
@cbl1 , wondering what my odds are for EA Engineering.
-GPA: 4.4 W, 3.67 UW
-SAT: 1350 (720 M, 630 R)
-Out of State (Georgia)
-Average extracurriculars, but above average leadership (Officer in 3 clubs, President of 1). Have been on swim team for 2 years and track for 1. Job as line cook for 2 years.
-I would guess my essays are slightly above average, but to be honest I donât really think itâs fair for one to judge their own essays.
-White male
-Applied for Corps of cadets and already received Army ROTC scholarship.
-So far accepted to Purdue, Texas A&M, and Clemson (all for schools of engineering). Rejected from UT Austin.
If you have applied to VTech engineering and donât qualify do you get Universal Studies (US) as major - provided you qualify to get admitted to the school in general? I have heard folks changing majors from Universal Studies⊠hence this question.
I just logged into my guest account and clicked on âapplication statusâ and âfall 2020â. I noticed that under âself-reported courseworkâ it has todayâs date (2/13/20) listed as the date received. This was not there before. My application, including the SRAR, was complete way back in mid-October! Is anyone else seeing this?
@colladm2020 I would also love to hear the answer to that question! Also, @Katma1 I think that happens to everyone. It is happening to me and all my friends applying.
If you apply to engineering and do nt get accepted you get a non- acceptance. Prior to last year students could pick a secondary major and then get accepted to another major if rejected from engineering. That is no longer the case. It is engineering acceptance or rejection letter.
