Early action selectivity?

Quick question: is it any harder to get in early action than regular decision? I’m pretty sure that I read somewhere that its no more difficult, but I’ve got people in both ears telling me im wrong.

This is UVA’s first year with Early action. Only time will tell. You should keep your hands over your ears. lol

It won’t be harder, because if you are borderline they will defer you and you’ll be considered with the regular pool. It might APPEAR to be harder than past years when they release the stats on Friday, because of the deferrals.

My feeling is that in the future (maybe not this year), the demonstration of eagerness and being on top of the process may actually be a slight advantage.

what type of stats are “borderline”?

Same review. We aren’t reading any differently between the groups. The reading season is spread out a bit more than in the last few years.

gurantetra-I don’t think you will get a direct answer about “borderline” stats - there are too many factors to consider and they are holistic (my son is certainly banking on that holistic review!)

Its a wait and see at this point. Just hoping they accepted a nice boy from MD …LOL (he isn’t too hopeful but would be beyond thrilled)
