probably like 11:59 pm on Jan 31 ;-)

@SwimGirl94 I think that is the 70% I was speaking of. It was something like 13000 applied last year, 4000 were accepted, and 2600 of those were in state

Legally the class they admit can only be 18% out of state.

@bookishnerd Yeah, but I would imagine the majority of out-of-state applicants apply regular.

Sooo… Where do I find the acceptance rate of early action for OOS?
I’m also a secondary legacy.

Below is the post from the UNC Admissions blog archive from 2009 when they did a Wednesday release of results.

[UNC Admissions Blog: January 2009](UNC Admissions Blog: January 2009)

MONDAY, JANUARY 12, 2009

4 p.m. on Wednesday
As of a few minutes ago, we’ve confirmed that we’re on track to release decisions online at 4 pm on Wednesday, January 14.

If you applied first deadline and completed your application in good order, you’ll be able to log onto your UNC homepage and view a facsimile of your decision letter. Official letters should start arriving by U.S. mail on Thursday, January 15. Please note that, to protect the privacy of our candidates, we can’t release decisions by telephone or by email.

I’m out of state and applying EA :)

My friend is freaking out—January 21 and still no letter!

IIRC, the acceptance rate for OoS is about ~14%, while the in-state acceptance rate is at a solid 50%.

@chico:
That post was from nearly half a decade ago.

Most out of state applicants I know applies early because it shows how badly they would like to attend Carolina, and legally it’s either 81 or 82 percent of those who are accepted have to e from North Carolina.

Daily Tar Heel article from last year: [The Daily Tar Heel :: UNC accepts 25.7 percent of applicants this year](http://www.dailytarheel.com/article/2012/04/unc_acceptance_rate_drops)

25.7% overall acceptance. 14% for out of staters. That’s overall, though, not early.

So if today is the day, when would we find out? Fourish?

Admittedly, I have no idea when decisions will be released, but I would assume that the Admissions Blog would provide an update before results are released.

This was released last year, the day before results were posted online:

MLK Day is a holiday for UNC. Could they release today?

They will not be released today

I highly doubt it’s today (although if it is, I won’t complain - the sooner the better) but I think it will either be tomorrow or wednesday

The Admissions Office is closed today. It’ll probably be some time this week. Relax guys, they’ll come soon enough.

What’s the acceptance rate for international? Are they in the same pool with oos?

Lets keep hoping to see that blog post soon!!

Could it be today…?!
