Early Action!

Just rechecked the blog and that last post on the coffee was just deleted it seems, unless my internet is not refreshing.

I’ve been stalking this forum daily for the last couple weeks but finally figured out my password to log on here. I live about 1 hour from Chapel Hill and found nothing in my mail today… Hopefully around 4 we will know…

Wow! 1000 more applicants this year. Looks like the competition is even greater than we thought. I would hate to think people would have to wait another week to hear decisions. Do you think they would potentially wait until the 31st to post decisions? That would be awful! I know it’s frustrating for all the students who have acceptances from other universities and are waiting to hear so they can make a decision. At least this is a place to commiserate. :(

They have to have all the decisions by now. I really don’t see any way they could still be reviewing.

This. Can’t. Be. Healthy…

Anyone know if they’ve sent out all the invites for the first scholarship day (the one primarily for EA people)?

The whole next week thing, as others have stated, is to get people to leave them alone. I’d put money on it being this week, although I already put money on it being last week, too.

Regardless of when they post online, it would seem that the online decisions will be preceded by an instructional blog on the admissions site. Of course that doesn’t eliminate the possibility that they could mail decisions before posting them, though that seems unlikely based on things that have happened in the past. I think everyone is getting fatigued from reading tea leaves - I know we are. I do appreciate the community of these threads, and certainly wish everyone well.

That blog post was clearly a message that we should drink a lot of coffee so we can stay up all night and await our decisions at midnight!!!

I feel bad for the kids next year who look at this thread to see decisions and statistics and have to slog through 28 (or 36…) pages of anxious waiting and stress to get to the information!

We are the best yet though. Let us craft our legacy beginning here.

CLASS OF 2017 REPRESENT

Congrats Matugi!

How did you find out?!

I didn’t get accepted (yet) lol.

Oh, I thought you were saying that you had found out that you got in. Would have been an epic declaration of admission though hahaha.

On the last comment, one of the admissions officers states that students will be notified online first.

Well the admissions office closes in two hours so there is hope yet!

THIS IS NOT A GOOD WAY TO LIVE!!! Ay, I really hope that we’ll hear back tomorrow…

Honestly, I’m surprised UNC has not notified you guys yet of your decisions. In my opinion, their admissions department is severely lacking by not giving a date that they will release decisions. They’re trying not to create a frenzy, but they aren’t going about it well. I’m really sorry you all have to be so anxious for this long. I know how it feels, but hang it there! There are 9 more days left of this month, so that’s the longest you would possibly have to wait.

If I don’t know by tomorrow night I’m just gonna go crawl in a hole.

It could be possible that they’re not posting how to view the decision. A lot of schools that usually send a “heads up” email didn’t this year

While you wait-
