Early Action!

I agree w/ ChapelThrill. YES, this is the worst feeling (I have been in a UNC haze since Jan 14) but if we could do 4 stressful years we can do this now. Let’s just keep each other company during this tiring as heck time

Well said ChapelThrill! I am glad they take their time to conduct a thorough review of all applicants. And also validate prior to releasing. Another nearby school sent acceptance letters to some of their Early Action applicants in error and had to contact them to let them know they weren’t accepted.

Good luck every one!

Wake County schools are closing 3 hours earlier tomorrow and we’re near Orange County so take that FWIW

Can anybody call and ask if there is any chance of them releasing the decisions online tomorrow?

Anyone know how many NC state got for EA which was also 10/15 and they released over a month ago?

Agree with chapelthrill. Good work is better than fast work. They aren’t withholding information, they are still discussing/debating

Actually, I’m IS and in Chapel Hill. The admissions officer brought us small little infograms with stickers saying the EA release is on or around 1/20. Not to be knocking on UNC or anything, as I completely (or sort of) understand how the process takes so long… but as far as I’m concerned I was actually given a semi-concrete date that was not met. This is beyond stressing me out, as I’ve been waiting a bit to pay for my Feb. 1st deadlines until I hear from UNC. Either way, it looks as if I will be paying tomorrow because I don’t expect a notification any time soon.

Somewhat off topic… does anyone on here have a clue what the Fayetteville weather is like tomorrow? I’m supposed to bring D for a soccer tournament and I have no interest in 6 hours of driving in snow only for them to cancel… ? The weather maps are all over the place- snow, ice, rain, nothing, you name it. Thought maybe one of you in-state people might have an idea… thank you, if anyone can help!

Well that maintenance was just maintenance i guess…

Heard from my DD’s friend that someone who works in the mail area at UNC said letters were mailed yesterday. Don’t know if its just another rumor but thought I’d post it.

So tired of the rumors but at least I get home at a decent time tomorrow cus of the snow.

I think a lot of us would have gotten the letters today had they been mailed yesterday. My son is hoping that decisions are posted tomorrow. We’re visiting a school in Boston next week, and it would be awfully nice to know where he stands with Carolina by then…

Nah
Some people would have got them today

I really think they’ll come out after school tomorrow…the system maintenance the day before is a dead give away, and also they usually release them on a Friday and tomorrow is the last Friday of the month.

I’ll be home at 11 because of snow so I guess we’ll see then

I also heard they were mailed yesterday as well.

If placed in the mail after hours, no one would have gotten them today but they still would have been “in the mail” yesterday, and likely arrive by tomorrow which is when I expect we’ll hear something.

I also heard they were mailed by a friend who attends Chapel Hill! Anyhow, we will get them sooner or later!

3 people have heard they were mailed yesterday… That’s a good sign.

Don’t get too excited guys. It’s probably going to be next week. Actual Chapel Hill officials have said they’re still reviewing apps. I hope I’m wrong, but don’t count on it being tomorrow.

This is from the assistant director of admissions
