Easiest and hardest AP Class

Easiest: AP Stat
Hardest: AP Latin: Vergil!

I’m taking Physics C in the spring so that will probably kill me but as of now, Vergil is the hardest.

True that Apples and Bananas!

AP Stats=joke
AP Latin=DEATH (Venieram odisse Latinam!)

Since I’m a junior now, I’ve only taken 5 APs but from my experience so far…
Easiest: AP Psych/AP Bio
Hardest: AP Euro(So much information!)/AP Chem(Teacher doesn’t teach =/)

Easiest - Lit & Psych

Hardest - Calc AB <— IMO Calculus is completely unnecessary. Who seriously uses derivatives and concavity? Funny enough, I have a B+ (considered an A everywhere else) in the class.

bigwill, my brother is a mechanical engineer. I can tell you that he uses derivatives all the time. They are actually extraordinarily useful in most tech majors.

Calculus is only useful is you’re one of those people who’s concerned with studying something that’ll get you a job. For us better people who aren’t concerned with employment, and are planning on a path of homelessness or just winning the lottery out of college and are looking to dual major in Childhood Education and German Literature, we have no use for Calculus. You with your Science, Social Science, Engineering, pretty much anything other than Literature and other nonsense like that.

Hell, I think even Philosophy wants Calc I.

Easiest: AP Psych - No Homework. That said I somehow got a B+ this term… I think I forgot to study for one of the tests…

Hardest: AP Physics B - Not enough people signed up for Physics C, so there are a bunch of people who took physics last year in the class. I think I’m going to be switching out even though Term 1 just ended…

It seems like Calc AB is not that bad at my school, but BC is nightmare. I took CP calc though because I don’t really care about math.

Dude, I swear that’s * exactly * what my english teacher told us she majored in. Maybe not in childhood education… then again she went to college in germany, so german lit is pretty legit. She’s actually a really good teacher too. Just found that funny.

LOL. It seems like gang up on the boy who dislikes Calculus day! :(

I mean, I understand that Calc is necessary to earn most degrees, but aren’t there a very limited amount of jobs that require Calculus?

For example: One must take Calc in order to get into medical school, but how many doctors actually use Calculus during when they are diagnosing/prescribing/etc.?

Don’t bash me. I understand that the same argument can be used for any subject—I just happen to dislike Calculus, which I’m actually good at. lol.

Easiest: AP Econ. Everyone (I’m not kidding) takes it at my school. The teacher is god awful though.
Hardest: AP Lang/AP Calc BC

Easiest: AP Chem (this year) and AP Spanish (last year)
Hardest: AP Calc AB

Sorry bigwill11205, but Calculus allows you to better your understanding of life’s basic things. Take filling a coffee pot. You’ve never wanted to calculate the exact amount of time it’d take so that you could do something else during that time?

^^ ur not serious are you?

^^lol 10char

This is relative:

Easiest: AP English Language (there’s work, but I’m good enough to ace the tests, essays, readings and analysis of texts easily, so I rarely spend time for this class).
Hardest: APUSH (based on the amount of work alone, which I often neglect to do such as the thick textbook readings that I skim quickly in like 5 minutes)

bigwill11205, you’re way off…

Doctors aren’t spending their whole day doing calculus, but they should have an understanding of some things. For instance, the amount of a drug affecting you is a differential equation of the time since you took it and the amount you took. If a doctor wanted to make sure a particular amount was always in your system, but not more than another, they’d have to understand how much is affecting you. Now, likely there are charts for common situations, but the uncommon situation I imagine they’d have to figure it out themselves (or someone atleast would have to figure it out).

Beyond that, everyone working in fields relating to Finance, Engineering, Economics, Science, many in Medicine needs calculus. Probably many other professions as well. Off the top of my head, the only graduate degree which will really get you a job which has no use for calculus is Law.

And really, German Lit is not a legit thing to study anywhere. English Lit is not a legit thing to study. Literature in general is not a legit thing to study. Literature is about reading books. Reading books is NOT productive.

I’m not going on that jackass “Liberal Arts are stupid” rant, English Composition, Creative Writing, Philosophy, all [somewhat] reasonable things to study. Literature is not.

This phrase has invalidated everything you’ve said.

My PCP does not use derivatives, or differential equations. As for the other stuff you said, I won’t even comment on that.

Bit late, but:

Hardest) World History, hardest class I’ve ever taken in my life. The teacher was very good though, so the exam was very easy: i had to ask for 3 extra pieces of paper for my essays (I noticed that after I asked for paper, whenever I take an AP exam they always mention that extra paper is up at the front  ). Also, AP Physics and AP English Language, although the exam wasn’t too hard

Easiest) AP US, supposedly the hardest class in the school I moved to, but after world i find it to be an absolute joke.

bigwill: i know from my dad that he uses calculus and physics during surgery, to calculate stuff like bone densities and prime drilling locations, since he’s an orthopedic surgeon. Also, alot of radiologists and anaestheseologists use differential equations and multivariable calculus quite frequently.

In general, I’d say

Easiest: AP Environmental Science
Hardest: AP Physics C

However, at my school the hardest, by far, is AP Biology. People dread that class at my school.
