Looking for high quality regionally sourced mail order gift baskets for friends & family on the east coast. I’ve been sending baskets from Chelsea Market in NYC but feel like browsing other options. Prefer to avoid the jams/sausage/cheese/crackers that seem to dominate most baskets. Looking for quality fruit, wine, cookies/brownies/chocolates etc. or theme baskets for breakfast/dinner.
NOT sure your price range…but these two are great. Not the snacky meats…real, smoked meats…outstanding. Harrington is in Vermont. Nodines is in CT.
If recipients like to bake, I recommend King Arthur Flour, www.kingarthurflour.com.
Wow these are great suggestions! I had no idea King Arthur offered gift packages. The smoked meats look amazing too, might have to send a gift basket to myself too this year…
You also might want to check out Stonewall Kitchen, from Maine.
^ I was going to mention Stonewall Kitchen, too! There special of the day is $50 off their Best of The Best Basket. $125 after discount with free shipping. Their products are very tasty and its a generous basket.

For chocolate, I like LA Burdock. Their mice and snowmen are cute - and yummy.
Had never heard of LA Burdick but the chocolate penguins will be perfect for our friend who visits Antarctica every year. They also win for the most elaborate chocolate themed gift basket I have encountered, $1000 treasure chest of chocolate! http://www.burdickchocolate.com/BasketsandCollections/burdicks-treasure.aspx
See’s candy and Harry & David dominate the west coast, I enjoy seeing these alternatives.
Here’s Big Island Candies, which ships as well, maybe to remind a loved one of a trip to Hawaii or plan for another trip.
Youngs Plantation Pecans from South Carolina are very good.
I hate that they charge for shipping (at least last time I ordered), but they are so good I pay for it.

Delicious Orchards in NJ ships wonderful fruit and bakery boxes…we gift these every year!
I love Stonewall Kitchen, too! My friend and I go to their store in York, Maine and sample all of their spreads. So good.
I will have to try those pecans. I miss living in Texas, where there are so many pecan trees that I could always count on someone giving me a bag of pecans every year.
This is fun, none of these sources showed up in my various Google searches. I think I’m early enough I can even order some things delivered to me for the Christmas day gift exchange with California family. We’re all getting older and I’m completely out of ideas for gifts.
I think edibles are a great gift to get/give. No clutter (except for the extra holiday weight. ).
Barring allergies, Virginia peanuts, of course! My favorites are Feridies (check out the Santa Pants!) and The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg.
LA Burdick chocolate is excellent - have had their adorable chocolate mice!
Edible arrangements is my favorite for fruit – great presentation.

I’ve also bought from Stonewall Kitchen and that has been well received.
For chocolate, you might want to look into these people in Maine:

I haven’t had their things, but they have a very good reputation. I have had Burdick’s, which I thought was no more than okay. (The mice are very cute, though.)
Regarding shipping, I can assure you that you are paying for it one way or another.
Look at MY BOYS BAKING in eastern PA. Delicious award-winning biscotti that can be packaged with their cookies, brownies or rugela in attractive seasonal packaging/tins. They’re very customer friendly - give them a call if you’d rather put together something that’s not on the website.
Stew Leonards will ship fruit, cheese, baked goods, etc. They also have a wine and spirits shop and will put together gift baskets. Check their website and I would suggest to call them. They can make up all sorts of baskets. For chocolate, Hauser’s and Bridgewater both in CT. Woodbury Pewter in Woodbury, CT has some nice locally made gifts. Nodines Smokehouse in CT.
These are all great suggestions. If nothing else, I love that this is generating website traffic for these companies.
