What are the easy majors for ESL (English as a second language) students ? Are the humanities majors too hard for ESL students ?

It depends on the college.

Math and physics are easy for people who are good at math and physics and you don’t need to write as many papers for those fields. :)

It depends on what you are good at. I have friends at my college whose native language is not English and who are majoring in English (literature) or history or philosophy and are doing just fine.

I had very limited exposure to English before I came to the US and the first few weeks were hard across the board, from math to literature, because I didn’t know the technical terms in either of those subjects. In my experience, however, it was much harder to stay motivated to catch up in subjects I was not interested in.

Some people think that it must be much harder to pick up on the subtleties of a poem or write lengthy papers if your first language is not English. Surprisingly, that has not been an issue for me after an initial period of adaptation.

I think you can major in whatever you want to major in!

B@r!um, Thanks for your reply. You r giving advice to every single of thread. :)

Bump, any other people have ideas ?
