EC for an International (Belgium)+another question about essay

I know how EC are very important for American College but the fact is that the system here in Beligum isn’t quite the same. Schools don’t usually organise anything for us (mine only offers us an Olympiade of Mathematics, once a year). If we want to take part on a team (sports), we have to find one outside the school and it is really difficult to practice more than one sport (b/c let’s say I’m playin basketball in a team, if I want to join a soccer team, the practice must be at another time and not to late so I could be there after school). There are no Government things or stuff like that neither, except for some private schools (and I don’t have enough money to attend one).

So the thing is that I’m taking music classes, I’m learning the piano too, have a part-time job, and have three basketball pratice per week. I usually don’t go home before 10 p.m., and when I’m reading all the posts, here, of people going to great school and having a huge lists of EC, I’m… a lil bit worried :/

Another thing, is there a limit of words for the essay ? I think I read something about that but it was a long time ago.

Thk u and sorry for the long message, still got problem about writing shortly in english :$

There are your ECs. ECs don’t need to be organized by your school. ECs are anything you do when you are not in class or doing homework.

A few years ago the application essay was supposed to be less than 500 words, but that might have changed. There might also be a few shorter “essays” on the application.
