Should I live there next year? I’m clueless about UVA housing - I don’t know the character of all the dorms so any information at all would be so great.

Here is your link…you need Quicktime to get the panoramic views…the interior shots will give you a good idea about the suite arrangements in Alderman area dorms. five rooms, shared bath, and shared connecting lounge…Suites really …with A/C. Echols live in three dorms in Alderman area…they all look somewhat alike, and the new incredible sports gym is nearby but you have a bit of a hike to the ever splendid Lawn. I recommend the Echols together plan for first years…they seem to be a very friendly group of inquisitive kids. After two years, you will be looking for off campus housing with close friends regardless, so get your two years On Grounds while you can and dig in. Congrats re Echols.

wait a second, these dorms look like single person dorms. is that true?

oh wait nm, so its a 5 person dorm suite?

No, no…just use the link I provided minus the words Exterior View. Read up. The Alderman dorms are well-described on that page, as is each dorm grouping re details. Echols are about five rooms per suite, two kids per room, one shared bath and one shared sitting room. This suite style is typical in all Alderman dorms and for non-Echols kids…exactly the same. Many first years prefer the “old dorms” closer to the lawn as well.

Do they mix Echols and Rodmans, as in house them within the same apartment? Or are they housed exclusively in separate apartments or blocks?

" one shared bath and one shared sitting room" is that between the two or the suite altogether?

also how seperate are the 2 person dorms for the two people? is it just one room for 2 people?

nm i undrestand

I think Echols and Rodman people are mixed together throughout the Webb and Maupin dorms. There are two people per room, five rooms per suite. It sounds like an interesting living situation, being with all those talented/smart people…
