<p>So, are Echols scholars exempt from ALL area requirements or just the English ones? I’m looking at this form that I got in the mail and for the other area requirements (social science, humanities, math and science, etc) it doesn’t say anything about Echols being exempt from them… and that will definitely affect what classes I sign up for next year.</p>
<p>I believe we’re exempt from everything…at least that’s what I’ve been told. Either way, I’ve tested out of the language requirement; I’ve tested out of the first year of writing; and, finally, I’ve got somewhere between a semester and year of credit, so I’m not too concerned. </p>
<p>BTW, who else on here will be in the Echols program? So far I know of myself (cavalier302), jia, kellyelly, and lonelychickk.</p>
<p>I’ll be in the echols program. I called the office yesterday and they said we were exempt from EVERYTHING in the distribution requirements, but not course requirements for majors or prerequisites.</p>
<p>Did you guys get the email today from William Wilson? It would probably answer any lingering questions that anyone has about the program.</p>
