Econ GPA 3.5 and Statistics GPA 3.6

Hi!

I’m from Colombia, I’m currently studying @ Universidad Nacional de Colombia (which is one of the best around here) and soon to be graduated from econ and statisctics (double major).
Now my question is how likely it is for me to get accepted into a MPP/MPA program in a top school in USA, considering that I’m getting one or two years of work experience here in Colombia. I know my GPA may seem low, and specially coming from a poorly recognised institution, but in my uni the average GPA is around 2.9-3 and mine is one of the best in my class.
Oh and I forgot to mention that I’m considering as well taking a semester abroad in University College of London or Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium.
PS: I speak english, french and spanish.

Thank u

Have you taken the GRE? Many/most programs require it, and the score is an important factor in admissions.

Can you afford doing a Master’s degree in the U.S.? Most master’s degree programs aren’t funded, meaning you may have to pay tens of thousands of dollars per year + cover your living expenses.

If money isn’t an issue, and if you have a good GRE score, I’m sure there are good programs that will welcome you.

You’d be surprised for the number of scolarships and loans offered to colombian studetnts, and since very few of us make it to grad school is quite easy to get one…

What do you mean by a good GRE score ?

It would be great to see an applicant with verbal and quantitative scores in the 90 percentile or higher. Eighties, ok.
