Very strong student. ACT don’t look competitve enough and I cant find how ED2 are considered. Is ED2 like EA?

I can’t chance you but did you apply EA and were deferred? Have you demonstrated interest (beyond an app?)

Calculate your unweighted GPA, core courses only, where any A=4, any B=3 and so on.

Are you applying for Financial aid?

Being female will make things more competitive for you and your class rank isn’t high enough to be an advantage…it will be an advantage if not applying for FA. I would not submit your 28 ACT. I can’t comment on your unspecified exceptional volunteer work, but the Africa trip is likely not much of a plus. Good luck.

Hi, no EA. I waitee for ED2 incase was denied. Unweighted would be a very high 3.0 like 3.89 due to As in AP courses. I know this is so random. Just seeing if ED2 makes it more likely. I thought with ED2 no financial aid or merit offered.

Yes DI with tours and attended visits when at school and on line presence.

At Tulane, historically ED rounds have a higher acceptance rate than EA/RD. Your specific chances I can’t predict. I would suggest taking a look at the numbers of those already accepted to see how you compare.

ED2 = more likely.

You are unlikely unless you are:

  1. Full pay

  2. TO

Then I’d predict…less likely

Good luck.

Did you apply TO?

Sorry, what is TO?

Test optional

Planning to with a 28 ACT. Not sure best approach.

Meaning planning not to submit since ACT are 28 and appears this is not competitive enough. Application isnt due yet still deciding.

Smart. Do not. 31 is the 25th percentile and you are not close. Only 50% submit so that’s good for you.

Are you a full pay student? That helps.

Tulane is very big on community service. I’d recommend you emphasize that if you can. Good luck! My son And dau in law met at Tulane!

Likely not financial aid eligible but would need some merit. Im reading ED likely doesnt get merit.

There are certainly schools that give merit. And they all will tell you they do.

But anecdotally, if they have you bound, why would they ? They don’t need to. They don’t want to spend just to spend.

Do you have $86k per year plus infjation each year - so $375k-400k. Are your parents agreeable ?

If not, don’t apply Ed.

I don’t think you get in anyway but forgetting that - no point in committing if you’re unable or the family is unwilling to afford - then you have a bigger issue than simply finding a school you can afford. In this case apply RD.

If the family is onboard and it’s your top choice - then go for it.

Good luck.

If you’re not FA eligible but would NEED merit to make it work you can’t really submit ED/ED2. You can’t bank on Merit at most schools and your grades/EC’s/etc suggest that you’re on the bubble for Tulane and would be unlikely to get merit in any case.

While there are schools that offer FA to ED applicants, it is most likely offered to strong students they clearly want to accept. As others have mentioned, you application isn’t likely to be considered compelling, and while an applicant can get out of an ED acceptance if it is truly unaffordable, its not the best approach to take.

Do you know your EFC/SAI?
Can your parents afford it?

Generally speaking, if your parents can afford whatever net price the Tulane NPC indicated they’d have to pay, go for it (test optional and highlighting how your experience as a volunteer matches whatever flagship volunteering program they highlight on their website.) ED2 is likely youemr best chance.
(Where did you apply ED1?)

Have you already been admitted to 2 affordable colleges you like?
