Eli Whitney Students Program 2009

Willard: what did you do about the question you PM’d me?

I had the same trouble and I did not talk to the office yet.

Do you have any advice?

The two people I might ask if I were you, are the admissions office at Yale, and the admissions office at Brown.

I know that you’ve heard from Brown already. So if Yale is your number one spot. You might talk to both admissions offices.

I think Brown RUE is a great place to go. IT is the same exact degree from what I understand…

As far as the interview goes, I have no idea what to tell you. You might just ask Ilivefree or others.

I’ve heard good things about the RUE also… the only reason I didn’t apply to that was they restrict the majors you can pursue. Ah well.

I am not sure which is better.

Should I try to take a spot at Brown? I absolutely love the campus and it is amazing.

I do have to wait to hear about the Eli Whitney application.

Either way, I think that I can’t lose. But there is a staggering difference between decision times. Is Brown undercutting Yale on admits? lol… JK. That would be funny though.

Thanks for your thoughtful responses, too. I’ll PM you other stuff later.

I think whatever you do it’s a winner. It’s win - win for you. Brown is amazing, and Yale is obviously Yale!..lol… You are in a fantastic position.

However, take note of what pressurewave says, you might be restricted in majors. So that’s something to consider. You’ll be totally fine.

I don’t know what to do. I’ll just call the office and explain the whole situation. I would love to just talk to both programs. But if you really pushed me, I could not pick Yale over Brown. I don’t know what my first choice would be.

I think you should just call. Yale would understand your inquiry.

Willard, Lopez: Got the messages.

Two things.
Lopez. Call Yale.
Willard. I did get that feeling.

Sorry for the Winston speech. He’s my type.

It’s alright, Jared. No worries here.

So, consider this Anna.

You could try to delay RUE. Then, you could talk to Yale. If you get to Yale, then make the decision.

But is there any pressure from Brown so far? Have you talked to many of the people in the program so far?

I’m in a similar situation, but not quite as awesome as yours!

Well, what is your course of study? I went back to look for where I got the info about a limited set of courses of study, but I can’t seem to find it… perhaps it was in the Common Application process or something? If it turns out that RUE students can study anything, I’m going to be bummed that I didn’t apply to it as well… I’m nearly certain I’d have had an easier time with that than just the regular Brown Transfer application process.

Re: Brown v. Yale… so many things to consider. Which city do you like better between New Haven and Providence? Between their courses of study, which school is stacked in favor of your getting really great experiences? Which school is handling your transfer credits more in your favor?

If none of that is of concern, go eat in both of their dining halls. Whoever has the best food, go there. Honestly, larger life decisions have been made on less useful criteria.

Hey, Cory and Lopez.

Do you all think that it will all be over soon?

I would take Jared’s advice about PM’ing things.

RE: YALE v BROWN.

I think you should look at pressurewave’s advice. If you can study whatever you want, then that’s even better.

LOL… That’s funny. Go eat at their dining halls!!! You should call Yale and ask to visit a dining hall!

Mikel.

Did you talk about being german in your essay?

Thanks for the PM, Mikel. It’s all good.

Ay, Cory, I am going to Yale Friday. I am going to visit. I will be staying on campus (at the Omni?). I am going to visit Brown Thursday.

Is there anyone that has not heard back yet?

Has anyone gone to visit the school yet?

I heard that it is beautiful!

Lopez.

I will reapply next year. Do you have any advice for Brown? Can you PM about the interview or call me?

Much love,
J

Ich sprach darüber nicht, bayerisch zu sein.

what???

How do you guys all know each (first names etc???). What happened to Pushin?

So Cory, let’s just use AIM. I am coming to Boston on Saturday. I would love to see the aquarium and stuff with your friends from school. The forum is too slow.

We’ve been PM’ing each other, and we’ve been using AIM.

We “came out” to each other, just like Tacy did. We figured, ehhh, what the heck.

Did you hear anything else deusex?
