not a word here, matey.

What’s your opinion on the lack of any response? Do you think it’s optimistic, pessimistic, or are you ambivalent?

Ambivalent. I’ve moved on to making plans for Davis. Had to get my SIR in and I like solid ground. If Cal reverses my decision or Yale calls, well, its my b-day early! If not, I’m happy and in motion. :)

No news yet, but again… If interviews for those given ‘further consideration’ are supposed to take place in May, I don’t see how no news can be good news at this point.

While they may reject on a rolling basis and many have been given their rejections already (see earlier in this thread), they may be waiting to send one final batch of them out.

So, perhaps those of us who have yet to hear made it pretty far in the process, but not far enough to get an interview.

That’s just speculation though.

Here’s what I know:

If you have not heard by now, you are basically rejected. Sorry about that.

They will not be interviewing past early next week. The committee will meet in early June (see website). The committee will make decisions on who is admitted and who is not.

Best of luck!

I enjoyed my interview.

Has anyone else interviewed?

Rejection letter arrived today. Good luck to the rest of you!

ditto, denied.

rejected. anyone else considering inquiring why?

nah, don’t care. obviously “not a good fit” is the answer so on to a better fit here in CA! :)

There are no interviews after today.

Another denial here - I was accepted to UPenn and Columbia, so I’m happy.

Rejected! Those who did not have an interview will all get rejected. I talked to Marianne today and she told me that if you have not had an interview, then you are basically rejected! Good luck to you all

Well, after being called for an interview, going to the interview, feeling like the interview went really well, and speaking with the person who interviewed me a few times afterward… I was rejected. Owch. I feel like I just got dumped, or blindsided, or blindsided by the person dumping me.

Fellow interviewees, the decision mailings went out today. You’ll know soon, or you could just call and get it over with.

Columbia, here I come, baby.

i’m so sorry to hear that…i’m sure it was no real reflection on you. I think we’re all pretty ambitious and amazing for even trying and getting as far as we (you) did. If you don’t mind my asking…how harsh was the letter? Though I am happy about my whole experience regarding CT and Yale, I do not expect my chances to be any better. I found out that last year they accepted three individuals only…this is according to another Eli Whitney student that was accepted in '08. Those were our chances from the beginning. SO, NO NEED TO FEEL DOWN. Columbia will be a great experience -i’m sure. I used to live in NYC and miss it every now and again. BEST WISHES TO ALL. I don’t know if you live there now, but if you’re ever in need of advice about NYC , let me know. I know lots of great places to eat, go, chill, etc.

AVIE

Guys remember this: Yale is overrated.

Hey Avie,

I haven’t gotten the official letter yet (called in), but the email discussions have been along the lines of the standard fare. “You’re probably disappointed, but it wasn’t you, it was our not having enough slots, and it is hard to decide who to admit. You were obviously pretty damned awesome to begin with, and you’re totally gonna rock no matter where you go.”

Columbia will be great, I’m sure. No, I don’t live in New York now. I’d love tips, hehe.

I am new to the forum but have been reading this thread for a while. Thanks for the helpful info. Have you by any chance been admitted? I had an interview two weeks ago --it went well (I think)–but haven’t heard anything since. Do you know if they will call or e-mail those who made it? This lack of news is making me nervous!

Hey Since2006 - if you interviewed, you’ll know soon. I was under the impression that they were mailing out results, though if you’re like me you’ll want to know immediately. You can call in and find out also, I think.

You’re right pressurewave I should call, but I don’t have the nerve to do so. I do know that other Ivies call once you’ve been admitted to similar programs, that’s why I’m asking. By the way, I’ve heard that Columbia is great, congrats!

Got the letter today.

I started a new thread:
