Email from Bucknell?

I got an email from the Assistant Dean of Admissions at Bucknell today. It didn’t look like any of the mass, annoying emails that most colleges send out–there’s no flashy colors, no school logo, no “reply to get a brochure in the mail today!”…

It basically said:

 • We wanted to touch base with you to see how your college search is going
 • News updates (about Bucknell), with a link to a site with a bunch of news
 • I will for sure be in your area in the fall
 • Feel free to reach out to me (the admissions director)

Did anyone else get an email from Bucknell like this? It doesn’t look AT ALL like the mass emails most colleges send out…

…and thus, it succeeded in getting your attention.

So that’s a yes…?

He’s saying that the school tried to make the email appear genuine in an attempt to catch your attention; to make you feel as if you are special, not that you aren’t…

you’re not special
