Emma Watson

I don’t understand why the thread needs to be deleted. I wasn’t trying to be funny; I don’t see how my post could even be taken as a joke. I was simply informing people that my friend has a 2370 and is applying mainly because of Emma Watson so I’m sure there must be hundreds of other well qualified people in the nation like him also applying for similar reasons. It’s not like he is ONLY applying to Brown - he is applying to many more colleges such as Berkely, UChicago etc etc but if he gets into Brown he is definitely going there first choice. It was his childhood dream to marry Emma Watson lol and he has a extremely rigorous academic record to back his application to brown so I don’t see why people have a problem with someone like him unless they feel threatened that their shot at admission is being “stolen” or unfairly taken because of a movie star which is as absurd as it really sounds.

Well tell him not to waste his time lol…because the odds of him getting in and then even getting to meet her are quite slim. Just being honest.

He’s pretty confident he will marry her. I don’t know if that’s just optimism on his part or ominous knowledge that he’ll definitely get into brown but that’s his attitude toward the current situation. Confidence always helps.

I like Harry Potter and all, but I just can’t understand why some people would want to apply to a school simply because a famous person goes there. It’s absurd! What do they expect? To become the celebrity’s best friend? I think people like Emma Watson have had enough already.

People who are applying just for a chance to see Emma Watson shouldn’t even bother sending in their apps. These people are taking up space, so less people who actually want to go to Brown can be admitted. Absurd.

Haha, good for him then. But trust me, while there is probably a minority of Emma Watson fanatics here, I haven’t met anyone that applied JUST for Emma and has matriculated. If he doesn’t have the incentive to get into Brown and doesn’t show a passion for what Brown has to offer (which ISN’T just Emma Watson…she is just another student and most students here respect her wishes to be a college student and don’t harass her), then Brown probably won’t admit him. Great stats and EC’s aren’t enough anymore. And as amazing as a writer as your friend may think he is, let’s be honest: there are THOUSANDS of people applying to Brown, and most of them probably consider themselves to be amazing writers as well (and probably are). He’ll need more to set himself apart.

Yes, admissions is harder than ever and it will become increasingly so. Most people have good stats, but only the “super humans” (as I like to call them) get in. No matter how much you want to get in, unless you’re amazing, you’re likely to be rejected. These top schools are cultivating true geniuses, but it leaves other qualified students really depressed.

^ that’s not true.

Don’t generalize. They are simply look for a group of diverse, intelligent, and well-rounded students. You don’t need to be a genius.

I knew very few people at Brown who I would have called “geniuses.” I don’t think the genius personality type is really Brown’s target.

That’s good, because I’m no genius.

When Prince William announced it that he will be going to St Andrews, the application jumped by something like 46%. Before Prince William went there, St Andrews’ admission standard wasn’t all that high. It was only tailing U of Edinburgh. Look at it now. It receives 3 times many more than it used to before Prince William went there. Even the real estate of the city has tripled or quadrupled. So, I guess this is reality. Students, apart from the faculty and administration, make up the school. Most of the time, it is the students that set up the standard of the school. If Brown would have many more Emma Watson, Brown would easily rival HYPSM in prestige, and I bet almost everyone would have a piece of that prestige. Imagine if Prince William, Prince Harry, Justin Bieber and many more of same famous personalities all go / went to Brown… It will blow YPSM away eventually.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Justin Bieber, male applicants would stay away from Brown

umm guys, do any of you know how much Emma got on her SATs?
or did she even have to give any?

thaaaaaaaaaanku

I’ve heard rumours that Miley Cyrus is going to Stanford? I don’t know whether or not this is true.

Did anyone else’s stalker alert just go off? Seriously, tell your friend to come back to reality. There is probably nothing that he has that could impress her, she is a fricking millionaire before 20, and he is a fanboy who happens to be smart, that also thinks he has a shot at his pubescent fantasy love.

lol, I think you’re thinking of a Hannah Montana episode.

Renegade1 sums it up nicely.

^^ Am I? My friend told me the rumour. I don’t watch Hannah Montana LOL

BUMP. DAMN THIS THREAD IS OLD. I Just applied cuz of the new curriculum, but emma is a nice bonus  LOl

A friend of a friend was in one of her classes apparently. Once when she answered a question some kid stood up and said “five points for Gryffindor!!”
