Emory Class of 2024 Thread!

@safiastyle --Interesting. She has not received one. Or so I am told!!!

Regardless of whether your D got an email, the financial aid info should be in her portal. Have either of you checked that?

She told me that there is “Nothing”. My momdar is going up!

I will ask her to log-on again–thanks to all!

@itcannotbetrue Also, make sure to log in to OPUS from a computer - the mobile version, in my experience, doesn’t show the financial aid information.
Here is what worked for me…

go to https://saprod.emory.edu/psp/saprod/?cmd=login
login
from the dashboard click the Financial Aid tile
from the menu on the left click Financial Aid Information
then click View Financial Aid information
there it will show what aid you are being offered

You can also click Cost of Attendance to view the total cost with no aid.

@g8rgal93 and @amsunshine Emory aid just in today. No answer to DD’s emails, but award letter finally came in through her portal–and is also almost twice as high as peer schools.

We are in weird times!

D got into Emory. Biology is what she is interested in. But free at UF vs $200K Emory afer aid makes me think if its worth it. Looks like tough choice as Emory gives so many oppportunities and can open door to big things…tough spot

Do you mean she got twice as much aid as peer schools? Or the net cost is twice as much as peer schools?

Has anyone gotten a welcome packet through regular snail mail? My DD hasn’t gotten anything. Someone told me that Emory is not so great at marketing…

@mdmamma1707 --Nope. DD told me that her ED friends told her they did not receive anything from Emory through snail mail either.

I got in ED and received a small package with balloons and stickers. A few of my RD friends have received them as well. @mdmamma1707 @itcannotbetrue there’s no official acceptance letter in the package - just goodies and a “congratulations!” pamphlet

I got off waitlist today!!

So did my son! We are all very excited!!

Can those who got off the waitlist share your stats? Thanks.

Hi! I had a 1490 sat, no subject tests, 17 AP classes! rank 11/458, 5.438/6.0 GPA, 3.98/4.0 GPA, im OOS, I’m female and asian.

My son had a 1510 SAT and was ranked 19/400 (top 5%), 4.55 weighted GPA. Two subject tests (750 on both). Strong resume and leadership. Visited twice, including sitting in on a class but such demonstrated interest is not supposed to impact admissions. He was considering applying ED but couldn’t pull the trigger.

They don’t care about demonstrated interest because candidates with less resources can’t visit. To Emory, motivation to attend is important. ED1 definitely is a manifestation of that. I think your son gained admission because he’s a strong candidate. Congratulations to your family. I hope everything returns to close to normal and Emory re-opens this fall.

@ljberkow thank you. I hope so too!

If I want to stay on the waitlist for another school, do I have to fill out Emory’s enrollment agreement form by May 1 or do I just pay the $555 deposit?
