For example, I worked at a restaurant for a day, but I had to quit because of car issues. Is it possible for this to show and reflect negatively on me?</p>
<p>Who can say for sure in today’s environment whether someone can find that out?</p>
<p>However, I would not worry about it. To a college it would be irrelevant - I have never seen an application that asks you to list every job you have ever held no matter how trivial in length of time (CAVEAT: you DO usually need to list every school you have ever attended).</p>
<p>For employers, there is no requirement that you list such a job on your resume. And I would not list it.</p>
<p>In the off chance that an employer knows of it (HIGHLY unlikely) and asks you… just respond that you started a job at XYZ restaurant but had to leave after one day due to transportation issues.</p>
