Engineering application requirements

The application instructions say, among other things:

and

How strict are these course requirements?

If you have not taken them, will you get rejected?

What are acceptable reasons for not taking these classes?

Eg, if you have taken an honors courselaod throughout HS and SR year are taking a courseload of AP Physics II, AP Calculus, and AP Statistics, these classes simply don’t fit on the schedule. Is this an acceptable reason? The computer-related classes at our HS are not honors level and frankly are not very good or well-taught.

I don’t even remember them asking about that last year. I got in anyway. We didn’t have comp sci at all at our school so I took some programming courses at a local college. As for the pre-engin course I took an intro to tech course my freshman year since I had to fill a slot and it was that or agricultural science. Tech courses at our school are for idiots. Those two were the leftovers. So maybe I did meet the requirements.

I would explain how you couldn’t fit the stuff in and tell them you are making an effort to do an independent study of some comp sci out of school. And then make that effort…
