English 12 required for U of Toronto?

Sorry for the vague title. Today I checked my status for UT and my first choice’s application is ready for decision. However, it states that my second choice’s application is incomplete. I uploaded my original transcript with all the classes I took in first semester and the classes I’d take in second. Now they want me to upload a transcript again but with English 12. My English 12 just started a week ago, the beginning of this semester. What am I supposed to do?

Call and ask; opinions from CC participants are often based on substantial experience, education, and knowledge, but you need an AUTHORITATIVE answer and that to come from the institution.

Thank you, I did and they told me to submit it whenever I got the first interim mark, which would be in March. Said they don’t know if I’ll be able to get in or not because they don’t know if they’d have room or not by then in the program when I submit the grade. Seems kind of unfair because I couldn’t change whether my English was in second semester or not. Hopes it doesn’t affect my first choice of UTM, which says the application is ready for decision. Thanks again for the help.

@amiieey‌: You’re welcome, but please remember one important fact: like it or not, life simply isn’t fair (and it will never be, throughout your long future). The university establishes its admissions evaluation/decision schedules to meet its needs and to serve it many and varied constituencies. That’s entirely reasonable and appropriate. I’m sorry this may not work out for you (and I hope it does), but saying it’s unfair and appearing to feel sorry for yourself will not advantage you in the least. Persevere and prevail.

@amiieey‌ Usually, the last round of decisions come out in May, so there should definitely still be time to get your mark in.

@TopTier‌ Thank you. I understand what you mean, I didn’t post the unfair part as to generate sympathy. I know schools each have their own requirements and systems, so they have the right to do whatever they need to do. I just thought it was a tough luck kind of situation. At least I will be talking to school counselors about it rather than resigning to my fate. Better to do something than nothing.

@OrchidBloom‌ Thanks, I’ll try to see if I can get the mark in no later than early or mid March.

@amiieey‌: Okay, I agree it’s tough luck, however, to me that differs considerably from unfair.

@TopTier‌ Positivity is all that matters in the end
