Enjoying the little things

Well I know that most of the people on CC are pretty hard workers so I was wondering what are some of the little things that you enjoy that keep you sane.
One of mine that came to mind was when you put on a pair of new cleats

One little thing that keeps me sane is walking around the neighborhood and enjoy looking at the trees and thinking how beautiful the world is when human civilization is not nearby.

This is a good question. I really enjoy seeing someone happy~

Silence. Just pure, peaceful silence.

I suppose trying to make 24 out of every set of numbers I see also helps.

I enjoy seeing people IM (Skype, Facebook, etc.) with proper spelling/grammar.

I guess I also love eating fruit in the summer. :D

I enjoy walking through the quad each morning and observing all the squirrels and chipmunks. It’s nice to watch nature.

I also like to just drive around at night and not really do anything besides listen to music and have the windows rolled down.

me too. i was going to mention eating mexican papaya, since i’ve been doing that lately.

in general i find i don’t really need too many enjoyments of little things to stay sane, though it is nice to enjoy little things when i do. the whole idea that we need to meet a quota of appreciating small things to stay sane or happy sounds wrong to me though, like it shouldn’t be that way, and that that need is really a symptom of something else being wrong. enjoying small things isn’t wrong, but the focus on doing so seems like it might be.

I enjoy growing plants. Right now, I have a strawberry that is ripening and is placed on my desk. I can smell its aroma by just sitting there. Home grown strawberries are smaller but I heard that they taste much better than the monster berries in the supermarket.

Knitting, embroidery, jewelry making and so on… Anything that is tedious and let’s me work with my hands is relaxing and fun for me.

Another thing I thought of was the dew covered grass in fall
