Equifax claims

I got an additional settlement today. A week or two ago, I was notified it would be coming this week. I got a $16.36 virtual debit card! I managed to download it add it successfully to my wallet. Anyone else get this?

I received an email this week but wanted to make sure it was real.

Mine hasn’t come yet, but I was notified by email it would by the 9th.

I got the notice but haven’t gotten the card yet. Hope I get $16 and not $7.

Got a prepaid debit card for just under $22. I wonder how they determine the $ amt

Yes, the amounts are a bit baffling. I don’t think I ever got money from the original claim - credit monitoring I did get so perhaps that was an option instead of a gift card though I remember requesting a gift card by mail so :woman_shrugging:t3:. This time the link to the virtual gift card did show up in email and I managed to figure out how to spend most of the $19.34 at Eddie Bauer. Sadly, my tech skills are less than fully evolved so will probably never figure out how to completely use up the full amount (!) and I’d still have preferred an actual gift card. Overall, not the greatest compensation for careless data handling but it feels like free money so I’m happy to take it.

my email is supposed to come next week. Still waiting on how much I will get in the credit card settlement case www.cardnetsettlement.com (eta - i believe the direct website is paymentcardsettlement.com)

Yes, I wonder about that too. Anyone have hints or clues? I assume it can only be used online, since it’s virtual.

The first one was a ‘postcard check’ for $5.xx (although I may have picked that option rather than a direct deposit). I remember we all thought we would get $100 or $125 or something, but so many people applied it went down to $5.

I haven’t gotten this particular payout but in the past with similar things I’ve been able to apply it to my Amazon account and use it up there. I don’t remember the exact process - maybe I used it to buy an Amazon gift card? If you’re an Amazon-avoider maybe other online retailers would have something similar.

Great idea! Thx!!

I might look into this. Mine is in my apple wallet. I tried to use it at subway but it was declined since the total was over $16. When I used to use gift cards at Walmart, there was something the cashier could do for a partial payment. If Amazon doesn’t work, maybe I’ll try that. Or just use it on something close to $16 and call it good

Thank you for the suggestion.
I’m probably not going to spend any more time on this for the$1.34 remaining on the card but had it been an actual card it would have been easy to use it in a partial purchase in a store. I wonder how many other people never fully use up virtual gift cards and what happens to all the aggregated remainder loot.

I also got $7.44 and bought an amazon giftcard. Thanks

I have another virtual card with $1.01 on it. Will probably order an 89 cent eyeliner/eyebrow pencil with it.

Anyone else not get the refund yet? Supposed to get something this week, but no sign of it. I even checked spam.

I had put the card on my amazon account as a payment method and then yesterday I converted it to an amazon gift card on my account

so do you just go on Amazon, select to buy a gift card for $7.44 and then used the mastercard number to buy the gift card? And then it is on your Amazon account as a gift card/payment method? (for those of us not smart enough to use it from the wallet?)
